r
Mashpee Warnpanoag Affordable Housing
18 Meetinghouse Road
Plan review
Page three
The slope needs to be well protected while grass germinates. This could be accomplished by
either sodding the slope or covering the area with jute netting that also allows for grass
germination at the same time.
. The plan indicates road names as 1W)F "B", and "c". Names should be selected and shown on
the plana.
Sheet 3 of 1
1. The baseline of Load "A" runs across the cul-de-sac without the appropriate change in grade.
It should reflect the sane change as shown on Sheet 7 of 12.
2. There needs to be more grade definition around each of the cul-de-sacs to insure'that there
are no significant flat spots where water could accumulate. The grades in some instances are
very flat.
3. The grade percentages and vertical curve data should be shown on the full size plans.
Sheet 8 of 1
1. The double catch basin rim grade appears to be too'high for the edge of pavement in that
area. There should be additional grades around the edges of pavement to assist in the
construction process.
. The road grade between stations 6+50 and 0+50 is less than 1% as req ui red by the
Regulations (Section Vi I l (C)(1). Admittedly this is somewhat picky as the grade is 0.97%
however it does not conform.
Sheet 9 of 1
1. The proposed hydrant location in the cul-de-sac will be difficult to access by fire apparatus. It
is recommended that it be located no more than 6' behind the edge of pavement. The main
(steamer) connection should fake the street. The setback requirement would also apply to
any other hydrants shown on the plans.
Sheet 10 of 12
1. The,construction tracking pad needs to be wider to accommodate large construction vehicles.
The radius should also be a minimum of 20 feet.
. It is recommended that the erosion control notes also include a requirement for placing filter
fabric under all gates until they are ready for use.
. There needs to be a stormwater management plan for construction conditions as well as for
maintenance of the facilities after construction is complete. This should include appropriate
measures to prevent sediment from collecting in SWMA and especially the proposed
leaching pit wicks prior to area stabilization. Post construction measures for maintenance
should be spelled out in detail for use by the project Owner.
Sheet 11 of 1
1. The plans do not show a typical cross section for the roads. Although they are shown on the
smaller Bureau of Indian Affairs plans they should also show on the lamer set.
. -There is no sidewalk section shown. see section I (1) of the regulations,
3. Catch basin and manhole details should show a ring of cement concrete around each casting
set to a width and depth of approximately 12 inches and extending to the top of the binder
course of pavement.
4. The flared end section should show riprap placed under and behind the end for at least 2 feet.
This will assist in preventing scouring at the end of the flared end and potential dislodgement
of stone.
5. For the rain garden detail there is no catch basin. Change nomenclature to wick.
6. For the wick detail, the frame and gate should be mortared in position around the riser.
