6 <br /> • Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> January 28, 2002 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearing—Liquor License VFW Post: (continued) <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to continue the Public Hearing <br /> on the application of Mashpee Memorial VFW Post 5489 to Monday, <br /> February 11, 2002 as requested. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Leveille absent. <br /> Public Comment: <br /> None at this time. <br /> MINUTES: <br /> • Monday, January 14 2002 Regular Session: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to approve the Regular Session <br /> minutes of Monday, January 14, 2002 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> AmeriCorps Presentation: <br /> Representatives from AmeriCorps Cape Cod updated the Selectmen on <br /> activities and recent projects and events slated for the duration of their <br /> term in the Town of Mashpee. Richard York, Shellfish Constable was also <br /> present for discussion purposes. ' <br /> AmeriCorps working with land and water conservation and environmental <br /> education has assisted with group projects involving emergency water <br /> testing, beach grass planting, forest management for the Tribal Council <br /> and the recycling of Christmas Trees. Additional projects include scallop <br /> and quahog propagation, aquaculture gear work,trail maintenance at <br /> South Cape Beach and environmental education at the Mashpee High <br /> School. Ongoing projects include the cleanup of the herring run. <br /> • <br />
