c <br /> t <br /> Selectman Garland stated that Mr. Kirsner stated that h 'eras <br /> planning a Public Hearing' -sometime by' the end of next we k. <br /> Town Accountant stated that in reference t I o our memo requesting <br /> articles be 'submitted to Se lectme'n�s- office by August, ', she is <br /> having trouble, with unpaid bills , unemployment compensation and <br /> the police contract. All these articles 'would have to be taken <br /> care of before the new tax rate is' set. <br /> Selectman Thomas- asked if we could extend the date to the 15th, <br /> Chairman stated that rather than a date he would rather notify <br /> the departments that they have a very short time to submit articles. <br /> Selectman Garland felt that a date should be established and <br /> suggested -August 13. Chairman. agreed to the date and requested <br /> that all de attments be contacted by telephone informing that <br /> they have until. August 13, to submit any other articles. <br /> Selectman Garland informed the Board that he understood that a <br /> petition was going around the Town regarding the establishment <br /> of rate, pair scheduled, etc. , . for the Librarian and Assistant <br /> for presentation at a Special Town Meeting. He also stated that <br /> he had not seen it. <br /> Chairman stated that they do have to consider the Genera. Laws. <br /> Chairman asked members of Board- if they .had reviewed the <br /> applications . for appointment of three patrolman to the Mashpee <br /> Police Department. Board con erred. , <br /> Chairman read .names of thos e being consider: Mrs . Do ries Hendricks, <br /> Mr. Douglas Flynn, Mr, William Paolini, Mr. Gerald Umina and <br /> Mr. Randolph Peters. Chairman asked for three different motions <br /> for the three vacancies for regular, ull-time Police Officers. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Garland, seconded by Selectman Thomas , <br /> to appoint Doris Hendricks as a Regular Police Officeiri Declared <br /> a vote by Chairman, <br /> Motion made by Selectman Thomas', seconded by Selectman Garland, <br /> to appoint Douglas Flynn- as a Regular Police officer. Declared <br /> a vote by- Chairman. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Garland, seconded by Selectman Thomas, <br /> to appoint William Paolini as a Regular Police officer. Declared <br /> vote by Chairman, <br /> Chairman requested that a letter of thanks be sent to the two <br /> candidates that were not selected, Mr. Umina and Mr. Peters, <br /> thanking them for their interest-. <br /> Selectman Thomas stated that the Chief would 'like a call. <br /> Chairman telephone Chief in'forming of appointmentsO <br /> _ - <br />
