Selectman Garland stated that he would back .Chairman Benway 100%.
• He spent over 4 hours in two days and was here when they pulled the
pump up. No one could have given a quotation nor could they have
known what they were going to get into until they pulled it up.
Chairman stated that the policy that the Board follows is that if
it is under $2,000. 00 , we go out for proposals. We try to get three ,
but sometimes we can' t get them. In an emergency such as this , we
go out and get the work done from the first reliable person that
can do it.
2. Mrs. Peggy Johnson scheduled to meet with the Board at 2 : 00 p.m.
did not show.
Officer Jim Ames stated that this meeting regarding Mrs. Johnson' s
dog would have to be postponed until next Wednesday, because she has
not received her certified, registered letter.
Chairman asked if the dog was still restrained.
Officer Ames stated that it was and that Dr. Lorenze would examine
the dog tomorrow.
All Board members expressed that they did not wish to have this dog
returned to the street for the safety of the citizens that live over
Hiacoombs Way. The dog has a history of chasing and bitting.
• Officer Ames stated that his recommendation will be to have the dog
removed from the Town.
Chairman requested that a letter be prepared directing Mrs. Johnson
to meet with the Board next Wednesday evening. Letter is to be
"Served in Hand" and all concerned parties notified of this meeting.
3. Motion made by Selectman Garland, seconded by Selectman Thomas , to
accept the Minutes of 10/22/80 . Declared a vote by Chairman.
4 . Letters have been received from March Dardano and Elliott Smoler
volunteering to serve on our Housing Authority.
Mr. Smoler is the Executive Director of the Falmouth Housing Authority
and lives in Mashpee. He is interested in serving as a Commissioner
of said Authority.
Chairman requested that Mr. Smoler be contacted requesting that he
meet with the Board at his earliest convenience to discuss the
establishment of a Housing Authority for Mashpee.
5 . Selectman Garland presented Board members with a rough draft of
a notice regarding an All Facilities Sticker for the Town for their
comments/recommendations.
• Stickers will be issued at the Town Hall from 9 : 00 a.m. to 3: 00 p .m. ,
beginning December 1, 1980 for the period January 1, 1981 to
December 31, 1981.
