Chairman stated that is right and that' s is why it is being forwarded
• to Town Counsel to see how this compares legally with that particular
case .
Mr. DePalma responded fine, and so I should just wait until I hear
from you.
Chairman responded yes and you should hear from us within two weeks.
7. Selectman Garland asked Board members if . Augats must apply each
and every week for a Sunday permit or can they apply for a month
at a time , etc. He currently goes to the Police Department and
both parties wondered if they could do it for a longer period.
Selectman Garland stated that he did not find anything in the
regulations stating that it couldn' t be .
Board members did see any reason why it couldn' t be done annually
or whatever.
8 . Selectman Thomas stated that she wished to inform the Board that
she went down to the Spit and reviewed it after the storm. She
has spoken to Dr. Gaines and he thought that they might go down
and take aerial photos.
Discussion took place with the Press in regards to this .
Chairman stated that it wasn' t the Town that wanted to spent the
money fertilizing; it was the Federal Government. This money is
down the tubes. There is no way to recoupe it.
9 . Member asked how the joint effort was coming along with Barnstable .
Selectman Thomas stated that the Coastal Zone Management met last
night and that there are a number of application that will go into
a pot to the State for them to choose the best ones. They will be
discussing these next meeting to determine which ones they are really
going to send up. There is a great interest up and down the coast
to -do 'an erosion study of the beach. All the towns would like to
see this down. Right now there have been three applicants that have
submitted their intention to do this study. We are one step ahead of
them, because we have done the historic data.
10. Selectman Thomas announced that on November 5 , 1980 at 7 : 30 p .m. at
the Cape Cod Community College there will be an informative program
Georges Banks.
11. Mr. DeMaggio met with the Board. Mr. DeMaggio stated that he was
here more or less as a taxpayer, a voter of the Town and as a
business man of the Town. This week the Town of Mashpee had a
problem with the well at the Town Hall and went about getting it
repair. He stated that his complaint was about the way it was
gone about getting it repaired. Mr. DeMaggio stated that he was
complaining because he has bid on many things in this Town and
everytime it was made sure that every legal aspect was met. This
week you hired an out of town contractor whose supposedly qualified,
he is a good man and happens to be a friend of mine but I 'm a little
-4-
