We w uld. at beast have <br /> a hui lding, to- g . after these funds. This is why the Council on <br /> Aging request the Recreation Building. There are over 24 ,000 <br /> people using our building in a year. This month alone, I think <br /> we have put in over 1,000 people . All we reed is the foundation <br /> to put the building on and then we will go after Federal funds. <br /> The senior Citizens will furnish the building themselves , we have <br /> done it before . I know the senior Citizens will cone through and <br /> the Town won' t have to furnish it for us or anything else . <br /> Chairman requested that Mrs , Crimmins find out what it would <br /> cost to construct a foundation to accommodate that building <br /> and secondly, ghat the cost of moving that hui lding onto that <br /> foundation would he. <br /> Mrs . Crimmins stated that she would find out, the above. <br /> Mrs.. verett .stated that Mrs. Crimmins idea is an excellent one <br /> At least that would he one of the buildings that would he preserved. <br /> i <br /> Selectman Thomas stated that she would like to hear from the <br /> Recreation Department, <br /> Spokesman for recreation stated that he would like to make the <br /> Board aware of the fact that there is another organization that <br /> is interested in that building. It is a non -profit organization <br /> dealing mainly with recreation for all areas of the Town . It <br /> hopes to take over where the Recreation Department stows or whatever <br /> when Bract leaves, we don' t plan to - take any funds from the Town or <br /> very minimal if any. we have people that are interested right now. <br /> We will becoming out with notices in the paper and sending hone <br /> notices with school children. . <br /> Chairman stated that the Board will consider all request. <br /> Grace asked Chairman that when the Federal Government gives you. <br /> money for that building as a Recreation Building doesn't it have <br /> to remain a Recreation Building._ <br /> Chairman responded no. There is no agreement to that. <br /> j Grace stated that. the Town wanted that as a recreation Building and f <br /> wanted to know how. if some organization cane up with a better .idea <br /> how it could be taken out of recreation. <br /> Chairman stated that if we went that way, we would have to go to <br /> _ _ <br />
