Select'ren�. present agreed to-send- a Memo- to the Board of Health in response to their letter, to the effect that under the General Laws their responsibility is clearly defined. If they find a contractor in violation, they cite him to this Board, whose responsibility it is to take action. Sel. Thomas asked about the status, of Newtown, Executive secretary. responded that they have sub Mitted a passbook, fully complying with the terms of th6 contract. All agreed that it was improper tor place the new contractor in the middle of a political struggle, and an attempt should he rade to avoid this situation l 2 Regarding the appointment of a senior Clerk in the Treasurer I s of f ice, to replace Vernice the Personnel Board is ,recommending Helen Theodora of -Cotuit. For the new. "Licensing & Permit Clerk" , the Executive Sec- retary recommends Dorothy Carter of Mashpee, who was the third ranking applicant for the Clerk/Dispatcher' s position in the Fire Department. He has personally .interviewed her, and 1•ikes what he sees ; he believes she could fulfill the re dui ements of that job.' Regarding the position in the Treasurer' s office, Ch . Garland goes along with Theodoras. Sel. Thomas would prefer appointing Sandra Peters, a local resident, in accordance with the Town' s ' Personnel Administration Plans stated, policy, and past practice. , Both Select- men agreed to the appointment t of Dorothy Carter, a local resident. el. Mail's folder re: Jim Ames , Dog Officer, 1 Regarding the question of lining the shoulders of the roads, Sl. Thomas feels the major Problem is the width of the road in question (Central Road) . She mentioned that you don't see these lines on non-primary streets in other towns, but this road has become a primary road. All present agreed the roper action was to go along with the Street Super- intendent' s recommendation. ( see attached)
