Thomas pointed <br /> out that we are -looking. for space ourselves . she asked if the Build- <br /> ing Inspector had been asked for an opinion r'e: holding classes down <br /> there. Mr. Murphy responded that he wanted to get the Selectmen's <br /> reaction first. He continued that it would. be possible realistically <br /> to accomodate the Con Corn elsewhere in this building. His major concern <br /> is the disruption of the activity , in this building. Sel. Thomas said <br /> that since the Town Offices are located dere on a lend-lease arrange- <br /> ment, the School Committee probably feels they have some say in its <br /> use. <br /> Chm. Garland asked .if it would really interfere with the omnibus <br /> School program? Sel. Thomas and the Exec.- Sncretary felt it undoubt� <br /> edly would interfere with their afternoon activities. They were re- <br /> minded that CETA is also looking- for space to conduct a GED and Career <br /> Shills Training Program in the evenings. Sel. Thomas felt space should <br /> be available for the Indian Children' s Program --- how about the church? <br /> No one knew if that had been considered, Sel. Thomas and Chm. Garland <br /> both agreed that the portables were the west solution, and agreed to <br /> push for that, <br /> On the question - f the Capital Improvement Proposal . prepared and sub- <br /> mitted by r.' Murphy, s 1, Thomas stated that she has looked at it, <br /> and bel.iev.es it may be beneficial. she especially lilies the diversi- <br /> fied committee that is proposed. she continued that we certainly need <br /> it - anythin-g that will help in the area of planning! Chm. Garland <br /> stated, "Let' s try to implement it. " Mr. Murphy said it would re.quire <br /> Town Meeting action-- should it wait for Annual? Chm, Garland said he <br /> could see no point in delaying. Exec. secretary was directed to job <br /> Town Counsel, -who has been asked to review the proposal, and tell him <br /> it is needed before the upcoming Special Town Meeting, Chm. Garland <br /> stated, referring to Sel, Thomas remark that it would be good to involve <br /> some of the talented retired people in town in the committee, that it <br /> is not always easy to get these people to agree to this kind of service. <br /> They often feel they have done their hit for- the community, and now want <br /> to sit back and rest. <br /> ). Thomas stated <br /> she will go with the Exec. Secretary' s recommendations* ChairmanGar- <br /> land agreed that -we don't have ranch choice, not until something is done <br /> about Sel, Thomas pet project to get the fuel depot implemented. The <br /> Executive Secretary agreed that the fuel depot may be the only satis- <br /> factory answer. <br /> The Executive secretary pointed out that the Board has received b <br /> registered mail notification from Gail Arthur, -formerly listed as <br /> Assistant Bar Manager at TomIs- Place, that she has had no involvement <br /> there since July 17 , and asking that her name be removed' from heir <br /> list of managers. The State is investigating tax payments for their <br /> employees , it is reported. <br />
