Page 2 . <br /> •30 p.m. - as the full Board of Health is present. Chm. Thomas concurred. <br /> Executive Secretary left to relate this message to the Board of <br /> Health. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> 1. ) Sel . Garland moved to appoint Mr. Chester Sheets to the Public Works <br /> Study Building Committee . Chm. Thomas seconded. This is a vote . <br /> 2 . ) Sel. Garland moved to accept and acknowledge Mrs . Constance C. Courtemanche <br /> resignation from the Growth Review Study Committee with regrets . Seconded <br /> by Chm. Thomas . This is a vote . Board noted that the resignation had <br /> already been accepted by that Committee . Set . Garland recommended a letter <br /> of service be sent to Mrs . Courtemanche . <br /> 3 . ) Motion by Sel . Garland to appoint Mr. David Terry to the Conservation <br /> Commission per request of the Conservation Commission. Seconded by Chm. <br /> Thomas . This is a vote . <br /> 4 . ) Sel. Garland deferred the discussion on the Administrative meeting until <br /> Executive Secretary returns . <br /> 5 .) Chm. Thomas informed the Board of what took place at the meeting of <br /> Monday night on the renovation of the U.S .O . building. She stated that <br /> • approximately fifteen people attended, and three were representatives <br /> from organizations . It was emphasized that organizations have to make <br /> a commitment. They have to become incorporated and jointly apply for <br /> the funding. Chm. Thomas ' s feelings were that there was a lack of assos- <br /> ciation represented. She said it would be nice , but whether or not they <br /> can get the people together . . . . She also feels that it is wishful think- <br /> ing. Sel. Garland asked what organizations were there . Chm. Thomas said <br /> Mr. Charles Hicks for the Veterans of Foreign Wars ; representative from <br /> the Indian Tribal Council and the Lionness . <br /> 4 . ) Executive Secretary recommended that the Board hold an Administrative <br /> meeting on Tuesday, December 7 , 1982 at 9 : 00 a .m. Board concurred. <br /> 6 . ) Executive Secretary informed the Board of what took place at the meeting <br /> with the Nam Vets Assosciation. He explained how they asked for any <br /> assistance the Town could give them in regards to space for their meetings . <br /> He said they offered to help the Police Department, and they wnat to let <br /> the Town know what the group is doing . He also stated that they do not <br /> want the space for a social gathering, it is for services such as the <br /> Town does for the Fuel Assistance Program. Sel. Garland stated that he <br /> was a Veteran of two wars , and unless you have been there you don' t know <br /> what it is like. He stated that the Southeast Asian War was unique . He <br /> said it is better late than never that we afford to these people the re- <br /> quired assistance , such as moral , physical, etc. Sel . Garland moved to <br /> provide. space in this building or any other building under the Selectmen' s <br /> • office for Nam Vets Assosciation to meet. Chm. Thomas seconded and said <br /> this was no problem. This is. a vote . <br /> 7 . ) Chm. Thomas stated that the Board had received, in writing the growth <br /> figure from the Assessors office . The Assessors report states that <br /> "the allowable growth figure for the Town of Mashpee was at least twenty <br /> two million for the fiscal year 1981 .
