Mr. Murphy said that the Board had received . a request from Nor., Thomas <br /> Devane, Manager of the Quashnet valley Lounge to close for ninety <br /> days for economic reasons. Board concurred that this could be done <br /> automaticaly now with the new liquor regulations . . <br /> 2. ) Mr. Murphy said that Town Counsel had sere a. .zoning article that <br /> he felt should-be inserted in the special town meeting. Town Counsel. <br /> explained that he had met -with the Board of Appeals to discuss a <br /> non--conforming building for. which a special permit/variance was <br /> sought. He noted at that time that Section 5 of the Zoning By-Law <br /> permitted a extension of a non-conforming use, but not a non- <br /> conforming <br /> n- <br /> confor ing structure. Town Counsel said that. he feels the Board of <br /> Appeal should -have the power to deal with a nor-conforming structure. <br /> He said .he discussed this natter with the Board of Appeals and they <br /> are in agreement that an Amendment to the By-Law is- in order. <br /> Board concurred that the . article be included in the - special town <br /> meeting warrant. <br /> . Hanson said that- with all the construction going on in Mashpee <br /> and the town growing like it is he feels it is time to get a consultant <br /> to look- at our police department and decide vw xat way the department <br /> should be handled.. Hanson said that the fire department already <br /> has made proposals for their reeds for the up-coming years and he <br /> feels the time is now for the police department to prepare for the <br /> future.
