ri. 5 BOARD OF SELECTMEN] M I T E f WED ESDA L APRIL 1 ■ 1985 Present: Selectman Hanson, Selectman Thomas, Selectman Terry, Executive Secretary Joseph F. Murphy and Town unsc-1 , Joseph J. Reardon. Guests: Charles Buckingham, Charles Lawrence, Doug Boyd, Monica McNally, Vernon 'Phomas, Richard Cook, Richard Kuuse la, Middleton O'Malley-Keyes, Selectman H. nson convened the meeting at p.m. Selectman Thomas moved to approve the minutes of April 17th regular meeting and executive session. Selectman Terry seconded. All were in favor. Appointments & Hearings 7; 15 - Selectmen scheduled three hearings - Mr. Cook for an acquicultuMre permit and Mr. Kuu s e t a and Mr. Sullivan f o r permission to move their shellfish grant.. Mr. Murphy explained that the legal notice for the Kuuela and Sullivan hearings was defective. The notice must contain name and residence of petitioners, data and location with description. r. arion agrees with Mr. Murphy and feels should reschedule this hearing. Selectman Thomas moved to postpone and re-advertise this hearing for May 1 , at 7 p.m. Selectman Terry seconded, All were in favor. The Board gage the opportunity to those who were there to ask any questions they might have. Mr. Marteiros questioned the placement of a boat ramp. Mr. O'Malley-Keyes explained that there is an area which most lends itself to a ramp which is 200 feet away from the grant area. Being no further comments Selectmen opened the hearing for Mr. Richard Cook to grow shl if ih in Ockway Bay opposite his grant area. Said request is for permission to float 12 rafts. Mr. O'Malley-Keyes asked if the reason for this was clue to the need for more water. Mr. O'Malley-Keyes stated he has no problems with this as long as the rafts are well marked. Mr. Cook explained the rafts would be 100 feet from the channel . The length of the permit would be from April 1 - December 1, 1985. Selectman Terry moved to grant the acquicullure,-permit to grow shellfish with the following provisions: 1 Public will be granted use and access of such waters and lams and such use be compatiblewith the acquaculture enterprise; The license expires on December 1 , 195; The petitioner agrees to move his rafts within a reasonable time if requested to do so by the Shellfish Constable: Appropriate markings be placed including floures ent buoys every 100 feet, according to the instruction of the Shellfish Cbnstable, and Rafts to be located as shown on the map dated March 28, 1985 as provided by Mr. Cook.
