Selectmen also said the proposal would cost more <br /> money than was appropriated for this. <br /> Mr. Perry painted out he has spoken to the Chief and he would be willing to do <br /> this for the amount of money appropriated with two reductions, one being education <br /> and the other being the kennel, <br /> Mr. Murphy pointed out the total program is less expensive than would be for the <br /> animal control officer with benefits and step increases. <br /> Selectman Hanson suggested this be held in abeyance until we hear from Personnel <br /> as well as pint this on file. <br /> Selectman Thanked Mr. Perry for corning. <br /> 7:30 Mr, Mart iros requested time with the Baan to discuss the use of John' <br /> Pond by the Air- National Guard. <br /> Mr. Martiros explained that the Coast Guard are holding manutevers on <br /> John' s Pond causing great levels of noise, <br /> Mr. Harr explained that the -Air National Guard are holding survival <br /> trianing not maneuvers and he feels this is very vital to their services. <br /> All ' military requires this training for four -to five hours at a time. <br /> Selectman Hanson stated he was a spectator for about an hour and according <br /> to the application at no time would a helicopter land on beaches. He <br /> pointed out that they did in fact land on the pond and beach causing <br /> dangerous situation with boaters and swimmers. <br /> Mr. Darr has requested to meet with the me`n in charge and will report <br /> back to the Board. He also explained the reason they are using John' s <br /> Pond is they are unable to do this anywhere else but are looking into <br /> another area. <br /> Mr. & Mrs. Lamb asked to withdraw them complaint after their discussion with <br /> . Welch. <br /> 7:45 — Mr. Virgilio requested time to speak with the Board regarding the opening <br /> of the bath houses at Attaquin Park.. <br /> Mr. Virgilio read a statement with regards to Attaquin Park which is as <br /> follows: <br /> "For as many years as I have been here, there have been many constant, <br /> uncontrollable problems at Attaquin Park. If the Police Department does <br /> not have adequate funding to maintain proper control and order at this <br /> facility, and the Recreation Department finds it threatening and dangerous <br /> to maintain lifeguards and bead attendants, then I hope you can under— <br /> stand that the Department of Put.is Works has found it impossible to keep <br /> up with the trash, broken glass, graffitti, destruction of equipment, <br /> tossing trash barrels into the water and general nuisances that continue <br /> on a daily basis. Because of cuts at town meeting, I do not have the <br /> money riot the manpower to open and maintain the bath house at this beach." <br />
