Personnel Board Minutes of October , ' 1.983 Page Request for Course Approval 4 Chief Hartin submitted two�requests for approval of courses being offered through Lesley College from October 12 to November 9 in Personal and Professional. Assessment and from I ovemb r 16 through December 4 in Man-agement Project . These courses are part of the curriculum for a B.S . in organizational behavior . Each course will cost $480 . Discussion was rade on one employee using up much of the education funds since only $_1500 is allotted per fiscal year . Manny motioned to approve the courses ; however that the board look into one employee using up much of the funds . Dave amended the motion to ream that the Board study manimum educational allowance for each individual to see if it can be distributed more equitably in the future . Carrie Saunders seconded the motion. All in favor, Reques't to visit Cape Cod Community College The Executive secretary requested that the Personnel. Board ' s secretary accompany hien to Cape Cod Comm-unity College to talk to the President of the College in order to explore avenues of future education for em- ployees . Danny motioned to approve the secretary going to the college with the Executive secretary on Friday, October 141 at 10 :CO a.m . Dave seconded the motion . All in favor , - Request for Temporary Help Assessor ' s Officer 1n a memo of September 27 , Pamela Davis , Asst , Assessor , requested that temporary help be hared to do reconstruction of the Assessor ' s filing system , Pamela recommended that Lynn Draudt be hired , Manny motioned o accept the request . Carrie seconded the motion. All were in f avor .. Discussion was rade on the rate to be paid to the individual being hired . Manny motioned to start the employee' at the base, rate oftem- porary clerical help, which is $3 .90 per hour . Carrie seconded the motion, vote 3 to 1 in favor, Interviews for Full--Time 'Police officer The Personnel Board , along with the assistance of Chief Frye , conducted interviews for the full-time e p sition of police officer as follows : Paul. valeriani , Terri L. Dors, James Shugrue , Paul Thompson , Edward Fleury and Jeremy Carter . Kris Boh enberger and Janes Jackson were not interviewed a this meeting as they had been previously interviewed by the Board. seven candidates were given the police examination on Thurs- day, September 29 . one applicant ' failed the written test , Upon the completion of the interviewing process ., the Personnel. Board voted to recommend the following - finalists to the Selectmen: Jeremy Carter , Edward Fleury and Paul Valriani . Discussion of Privacy for Personnel Office— Discussion was Made on more privacy for the personnel office . Manny motioned that either a wall be placed between the Building Inspector ' s office and the Personnel office for acoustic purposes or that another room be provided. Caroline seconded the motion. All present were in favor .
