Step Increase Joyce Mason r d . e Murphy met with the Board to discuss- a salary incr.ease for Joyce ,Mason, AdMinistrative Wecretary to the Board of- Selectmen. The recommendation is 'that Mrs. Mason beL mored from Grade 1 , - step 2 to Grade 12, Step -. He e pla'ined that they are dealingr with .a situation which one person has carried a two secretarial" office for seven months, 1 � ` i . Mr. Murphy also told the Board that they !P will have before them within ,one month a change 1'n.- the job request as it is their desire that fthe position be- upgradd by--July 1 . He said 'th.a.t the Board will b asked' to examine the proposed charge in title. - K ' ■ i' M - a r Bob Sullivan asked why he wanted to give raise now- if the' intention was to upgrade and r chance the job description's kh % Mr. 'Murphy explained that they wanted to change the jpb,r title which .has not been totally refined. Joe Murphy N said that 'it would b 'at the mini�mu rate but not lower than where they,, are now. He said- .that � . . - . . ,that it would be encouraging the individu l' toi stay with the -town because there weuld be four more gears within step at the 'Grade 15 level . Oh* Beni Lofchie suggested moving the employee up" one step noir so -that it would not be a drastic increase all at one time. Joe Murphy said.that if he could get this now, it would deliver more than a promise in July. He said that the intent i for the level of r•esponsibi.lity to 'u crease. He explained that at Grade' 15 the salary level would be the. sam"e as it i's currently L. R th room for increments. Caroline Gilligan asked if this was a senior secretary? Joe Murphy' replied "yes,¢'that they currently have two administrative secretaries 'aid Joyce Mason- was the Senior secretary" H reiterated -by saying that the sta ting salary would remain unchanged. , .t T - f Y Berg Lofchie moved that Joyce Ma'son's' salary level be increased from Grade 12, Stepp 2 to Grade 12, Step 4 as soon as the -Board of Selectmen approve it. Dr. Silva said. that he would meet their 'rice. Dr. Silva was- asked if there, would be A. pr blem with the -scheduling of appointments. and if he had the f'acili'ties to do all the''testing at his office. He replied that he had the facilities and there would be n problem scheduling,appointments'. Chairman Sullivan'asked Dr-.
