He said that the review of the benefits <br /> did not Include the school. . Al indicated that John Ferriday has <br /> requested information from the Superintendent ' s office , , <br /> Upon review of the fringe benefits, Al ' said that he presented recom- <br /> mendations to the Finance Committee ( copies attached ) . J <br /> ,eta Sousa advised the Fina c Committee members that one of the <br /> things that the Personnel Board wants to do is to restructure and <br /> ewite the Personnel Administration Plan and that she was in the <br /> process of looking at the Personnel Administration Plan and re- <br /> organizing all sections . She said that the Board also wants to look <br /> at supervisory and professional employees working forty hours . <br /> i <br /> Al Polsi commented that it is a generous fringe benefit package , He <br /> said that another concern was the benefits the part--time employees <br /> are receiving . <br /> Fane Stockbridge commented that if you work over twenty hours weekly <br /> Por over 1 , 000 hours' yearl y, you have to provide pension benefits . <br /> She commented that the Personnel Board was asked by the Board of <br /> Selectmen to provide benefits for less than twenty-hour employees . <br /> They , receive one week of sick time and one week of vacation time . <br /> Al commented that twenty-hour employees receive some vacation, sick <br /> leave and full medical benefits . Fane said 'that most of these things <br /> have fallen as a result of negotiations with the clerical union . She <br /> commented that more peoplb should be involved in negotiations . <br /> John Ferriday commented that the Finance Committee and Personnel. <br /> Board should ask to be invited to the Board of Selectmen ' s executive <br /> session to talk about things we are uncomfortable with in the present <br /> union contracts . <br /> Discussion centered around the cost of medical insurance with Al <br /> Polsi , suggesting that they may want to make a recommendation to pay <br /> less than 7 Rita Sousa commented that we should check with other <br /> towns to make sure we have external equity .- John Ferriday commented <br /> that there are only four other towns on the Cape that pay <br /> Another recommendation of Al. Polsi was that the accrual of vacation <br /> days be limited to 10 days . He also suggested eliminating a buy-back <br /> of sick . days , With regard to longevity benefits, Al said that he <br /> thinks we should look .into a 401 tax-deferred savings plan. He said <br /> that it would b-e cost effective -for the town . Rita Sousa commented <br />
