Harbormaster Turner reported that his department had been busy removing navigational aids and <br /> installing winter sticks. Anchors/chains for charnel markers had been replaced in all locations.The <br /> trailers have been updated with mechanical/electrical improvements and boats have been shrink <br /> wrapped. The John's Pond markers have been removed and +ashpee/wakeby markers will be removed <br /> after the conclusion of the scheduled bass tournaments. The Great River Ramp project is making <br /> progress and near water tight for construction (coffer dans installed and silt curtain Installed)• Holdup <br /> now is the fiberglass encased rebar for the ramp, <br /> DNR Director Shellfish Constable Report: IBNR Director Rick York stated that shell fishing was still <br /> active and softshell clams were in more abundance this year, perhaps due to some cyclical recovery. <br /> Eight million quahog seed were deposited in Mashpee waters this year,which Rick noted is a Cape Cod <br /> record, Last year's total was five million quahog seed. In the IVlashpee River, 2,133 bags of oyster seed <br /> were placed and the Tribe deposited 2,000 oyster bags into Shoestring Bay as the last part of a two year <br /> agreement. Rick said oyster drill activity was not impactive this year on the oyster population. Overall, <br /> the oyster and quahog populations have done well in the past year. Don MacDonald asked Rick when <br /> the Town might see discernible results of the shellfish propagation effort on the water quality metrics. <br /> Rick added that there are plans to add ten million additional shellfish seed next year and that In two <br /> years, results and impact should be in evidence. <br /> Rick commented on the Dater Quality Results that were presented by Dr., Brian Bowes.
