Selectman Lawrence moved that the <br /> Board of Selectmen vote to send to the General Court of the Commonwealth <br /> of Massachusetts a Home Rule Petition to establish a l ashpee Water <br /> District as passed at the Special Town Meeting on March 23.9 1987, Mrs . <br /> Thomas seconded the motion. The vote was una i ous . <br /> OTD BUSINESS <br /> 1. Town Accountant re : Arrow Engineering i, ,, The <br /> Executive Secretary referr*enced a, memorandum from the Town Accountant <br /> dated lurch 17, 1987. An inquiry has been made to the Department o <br /> Revenue and an answer is - expected y the end of the forthcoming wee , <br /> 2. SE IAS Partnership re : weighing ro ram. The Executive <br /> Secretary referred to a, letter dated March 12 , 1987 from Gordon Le <br /> Sutin and stated that they are looking for an acknowledgment of the <br /> process , He said that the Board of Health has had the scales this past <br /> week and has not been satisfied at all because the scales have been <br /> non-functional. This matter was deferred by unan�. u agreement until <br /> the Board of Selectmen has an opportunity to confer with the Board of <br /> Health. <br /> • Douse Bili. 014 re : ant to <br /> • fir' acquire land. Mrs .. Thomas and Mr. <br /> Lawrence will confer further on this , <br /> 6. Quashnet Vnllev Country Club. lir# Murphy stated that <br /> the Chief of Police has noted in his memorandum' dated larch 23', 1987 <br /> that a daily check of the Club lounge has shown that the lounge was <br /> not open at any time since lir. Murphy requested that these checks be <br /> made on March 9, 1987. On November 10, 1986, the manager of 'the Club, <br /> Thomas Devane , Jr. , requested permission to close on weekdays in <br /> January and February of 1987 due to economic conditions , T its request <br /> was ' approv e d by the Board of Select yen,on November 25, 1986. The <br /> Executive secretary said that the lounge should be open weekdays now <br /> under the terms of the conditions agreed upon by the Board. The members <br /> agreed to make written cOmmunica.tion to the management of the Club <br /> immediately. Mr. l,a.wrence will make telephonic inquiry into this ratter. <br /> 7. Popponesset Dredging Pro `e c t. Mrs . Thomas stated that <br /> she has provided an update report on this project and that the Town will <br /> o out to rebid the contract. <br />
