' f � � r f Board of Selectmen Page Three Regular Meeting Wednesday, April 1 , 1987 OTD BUSINESS : 1. South Qapfjiquors , fir, Murphy referred to his memorandum of March h 31, 1987 . It was unanimously agreed to hold a Public hearing on the revocation of the license . Mr. murphy will schedule the hearing. 2. Bowdo in Road. Reference is made to a, written cor muni- catI n from Assistant T wn Counsel regarding three articles prepared for Town Meeting action concerning Bo doin Road. The articles will appear on the Warrant and the necessary plans will be submitted as references 3o SEMASS scales . Response dated Larch 27 , 1987 has been received from the Board of Health in which it was stated that the first experience with the scales (2/10/8 " - 2/24/87) was quite unsatisfactory. The Board has been asked by the SASS Partnership to execute a docu- ment accepting the provisions of the relocation, 3-n ;pection and main- tenance of the scales . It was unanimously agreed that the Town should put SASS Partnership on notice that while the scales were in operation in lashpee during the above-noted period of time it was completely inadequate and that no action will be taken until July, 1987 'after further evaluation of the weighing program. . Legal Services , In his written communication of March 24, 1987, Town Counsel expressed the need of his office for clar'if'ication of the Board of Selectmen's directive pertaining to Fees for legal services from the office of Town Counsel, It was un- animously ously agreed that such clarification is necessary and the matter will be further discussed with Town Counsel in the afternoon of April 2 . 1987 at Town Hall. 5. School Budget Deficit. In his communication dateda rch 2 , 1987 , the Superintendent of Schools informed the Board that an examination of the present budget and projected expenditures indicates thata budget deficit f approximately fifty percent less than the original figure of $51 ,000-00. c uld be experienced. NEW BUSINESS : 20 -Deputy Chief of Police - step increase , In his written communication municati to the Board dated Larch 26 , 1987 , Police chief Curtis `rye recommended that Deputy Police Chief Maurice A. CoopJr.r, be raised from his present salary under the P.A. . to Grade 17 , Step v ($652.71, per week such increase to be retroactive to January 23 , 1987e selectwOman Thomas made the appropriate motion which was seconded by Nor o Lawrence and unanimously carried. 3.
