Personnel Board re : Fire Chief vasa .c - Mr. Murphy <br /> reported that a memorandum has been recelved frbm the Personnel <br /> ,el <br /> Board, dated June 9, 1987 , asking for written clarification as to <br /> what the Board o f Selectmen has done with regard to looking into a <br /> search committee and the.,.cost factor for filling the position of ;w <br /> `ire Chief. The memo states that the job description is almost x <br /> finalized and the Personnel Board is getting ready to advertise this <br /> position. The Board of Selectmen reaffirmed that the Personnel <br /> Board is to act as .the search committee:. <br /> 4. Pop-ponesset ._Bay._Dre.dFing Pro 'ect. Chairwoman Thomas <br /> stated that a letter dated June 17, 1987 has been received from Dr-, <br /> Aubrey raking specific recommendations regarding bids received for <br /> dredging. Dr. Aubrey recommended the second lowest bidder, Hydro <br /> Dredge Corporation, The Corporation would be available to complete <br /> the dredging in June , 1987 or early July, 1987 or in the fall of the <br /> year; however, they are looking for a. June completion. Dr. Aubrey <br /> submitted an agenda with the letter setting forth actions that must <br /> be taken with dispatch to facilitate and expedite -a June completion. <br /> Item to hire a competent dredging inspector is eliminated as -Harbor- <br /> master <br /> s - arbor- <br /> ma.ster Koblinsky will perform in that -capacity-. r'. tawrence is <br /> opposed to signing the addendum to Dr. Aubrey's contract which would <br /> permit him to hire a surveying firm to complete pre and post dredge <br /> g <br /> surreys for reasons previously stated, Mrs'e Thomas stated that the <br /> Town Conservation Officer would recommend to the Conservation Commi- <br /> sion that work could be l erfo med if the work 'area were no closer '' <br /> than five hundred Feet from the bird nesting areas .
