Suicidera entior� injails - l .1slation� Regarding a,rding the <br /> fifteen minute state-mandated ated cell.--block checks , Mr .- Gottlieb <br /> reported that the supplemental budget filed has passed the Huse <br /> of Representatives with Five Million Dollars allocated to meet the <br /> costs of the cell-block checks . lir. Gottlieb said that the budget <br /> was h.eld up in the Senate but that Senator Webber has informed him <br /> "that there are assurances that the Five billion Dollars will b <br /> included as a, 'supplemental' before the senate breaks for the summer <br /> recess , which is expected to be mid to Late July" . The issue of <br /> filing a class-action suit to be freed from the requirements of the <br /> mandate if towns remain unfunded was discussed. Nor. Carter dis- <br /> cussed <br /> i -cussed the possibility and feasibility of on-duty police dispatchers <br /> conducting the cell-block checks . It was unanimously agreed that <br /> the 'Board of Selectmen will notify the : Chief of Police of their <br /> agreement with his suggestion that police dispatchers make the fifteen <br /> minute cell-block c h e ks <br /> 5 <br /> • Poppone s s e t Bay Dred. in Pro j e ct� Mrs . Thomas stated that the <br /> Board 's in receipt of all of the correspondence regarding this pro- <br /> ject dated June 29 , 1987 including a memorandum from the Popponesset <br /> Bay Dredging Committee , letter to Brad Barr of CZM, and letter to <br /> John Hannon of DE E e Mrs Carter briefly reviewed these communica- <br /> tions . <br /> om u ica.- <br /> ions . They also mentioned the possibility of assigning indi- <br /> *dual members of the Board of selectmen to individual Department Heads <br /> as a. lia.son with that Department to help Foster accessibility and <br /> improve communications <br /> NEW BTPS INES S ; <br /> leSpecial Town Meeting warrant Review, <br /> Article l - concerning the appropriation and transfer from <br /> the Stabilization Fund monies to rehabilitate the Town Hall roof new <br /> section of building) , The second phase of the article , "to engage <br /> consulting services to prepare cost estimates . . . it was deleted by un- <br /> animous agreement on the recommendation of the Finance Committee, <br /> Mr. Hanson will move this article at the Special Town Meeting, <br /> Article 2 - concerns the appropriation and transfer from the <br /> Stabilization Fund of a. Burn of money to rehabilitate Engine 355 an <br /> to vent or lease a substitute fire engine for use while Engine 355 <br /> is being overhauled. Seventy-five Thousand Dollars was allocated for <br /> this purpose of overhaul and includes the lease price of a. substitute <br /> engine . Mr. Lawrence will move this article . <br /> (Note�{ The Finance Committee is in favor of articles 1 and 2. <br />
