Orlando said that the bottom line is that he wants clean <br /> water and does not want the Tori of Mashpee to pay any amount <br /> of money to get that water t h ire <br /> Barbara Seckar rade reference to a letter whyich expressed the <br /> concern of the Briarwood resi sdents <br /> lady present during the meeting asked how long everything <br /> would take? Sel . Gotleib replied that his preference is to <br /> go in and get this thing settled using the county statistics <br /> and using the questions that exist about different method- <br /> ology used by the base to disprove their responsibility. The <br /> lady asked how long would it take to get drinking water? <br /> el . Gotleib said that he did not know. Barbara Seckar <br /> asked if the projected date was for the end of this year . <br /> el . Thomas said that they would not see that until next <br /> year . <br /> lady asked why couldn't each well in Briarwood be tested' <br /> el ; Thomas replied that the Dater Commissioners have written <br /> to the Board of Health and asked them to have the Barnstable <br /> Countydo testing of Br i arwood and South Briarwood. She said <br /> that it has been put on hold because they want to evaluate <br /> some of their other financial pro f ergs <br /> The, _l ad asked if it would help if they went to the represen- <br /> tatives <br /> epresen- <br /> tatives to get the Board of Selectmen some help . Selo <br /> Thomas said that all the respr~esentativs are all willing t <br /> assist the town . <br /> Another lady asked about the negotiation meetings and what <br /> the process would be to have Briarwood representation? Se l . <br /> Carter~ said that Br i arwood should be first and foremost <br /> informed of what goes on . He said that he thinks that the <br /> Federal Government may be l ears in dealing with a member from <br /> Br i arwood since they feel that it is a town they would rather <br /> be negotiating with . <br /> With regard to the negotiating team, Town Counsel said that <br /> he did not see anything wrong in having a representative <br /> monitor it so that there is a direct pipeline , Sel , Thomas <br /> asked what the responsibilities of the representative would <br /> e as to what was taking place during the session. Town <br /> Counsel said that it gets into a delicate area. He said that <br /> if you are negotiating a resolution of the probl em g they are <br />
