He <br /> asked what they needed her for' Wendy replied that programming i <br /> only one of about fifteen sections of her job description , She said <br /> that she cane to the Board to talk to thea about i t x They are <br /> recommending that they put a halt to these programs until they pull <br /> together volunteers. Sel . Carter asked if the Youth Commission could <br /> help with the Youth Programs. Wendy replied that the Youth <br /> Commission hasn't done a thing and that is something they need t <br /> pick up on this year and it is one of the hopes of having the <br /> recommendation go through . Then , it would give her an opportunity to <br /> pend a little more time i th groups such as the Youth Commission, <br /> the Arts Council , the Senior Citizens and the school . Sal . Carter <br /> suggested that she introduce the Youth Commission to the organization <br /> of concerned parents. bendy replied that she had no probers with <br /> that . <br /> el . Gotleib said that in recognizing that there is a lot of things <br /> to do and that this is just one portion of the job, he would like to <br /> see her using other resources available to see what programs can be <br /> accomplished. Wendy asked who would supervise the programs stating <br /> that they cannot use the school without paid staff which is school <br /> policy, <br /> Patty Cooper commented that the soccer and youth baseball programs <br /> were run for the most part by volunteers and that there was an active <br /> group of interested parents who like to see credit for these <br /> programs. She asked what benefit them was at all to the town for <br /> the football league . Wendy asked ed that the question be deferred to a <br /> Park and Recreation Committee Meeting. <br /> l . Lawrence commented that the suspension of the recreational <br /> programs because there is not a Program Director is not an acceptable <br /> position to be taking; Wendy said that it is a little late to be <br /> planning for fall spurts. Sel , Lawrence said that he would l i e <br /> Wendy to come back to the Board and tell thea~ what programs she i <br /> going to run. Sel . Carter said "or could run" . Wends 'aid that it <br /> is impossible to run these programs and for her to do her job and <br /> supervise what needs to be done , She said that she could come back <br /> in three months by the time she gets done meeting with the Youth <br /> Commission . <br /> f <br /> Set . Lawrence asked what was set up before the Program Director left? <br /> Wendy said that they had a temporary person in for the summer just to <br /> handle the summer programs. She said that the fall programs are not <br /> set up as they set thea up in August . Sel . Thomas asked when the <br /> Program Director first started in her position with the town . Wendy <br /> Rubin replied "September 18" . She said that she was here to referee <br /> the soccer program, but she did not oversee that program. <br /> Wendy said that she would l i e to recommend that the Farb and <br />
