Selectman Lawrence seconded- the motion. <br /> All were in favor. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1 The Board reviewed a memo from the -Executive Secretary relative to the <br /> Gate at John's Pond Park. Mr. Murphy recommenced the gate be left open <br /> from Labor Day to June 1988 when the beach -is not staffed. DPW can <br /> install a device -to prevent the gates from being closed, and during the <br /> ummer, the gates will bei opened by either the DPW- cleanup -crew- or life- <br /> guards, whoever arrives first. - Then closed by the first police patrol in <br /> the area after 9 p.-m. No special trips would be made by the police. <br /> Selectman Carter moved to approve the recommended course of action. <br /> Selectman Lawrence seconded the motion. All were in favor. <br /> 2 The Board received a letter of petition asking that Albert Orlando represent <br /> the Briarwood Mashpee Association, Inc.. .t- the negotiation meetings with the <br /> Department of Defense. ' <br /> The Beard had no objection to Mr.. Orlando having an ear- at the meetings <br /> but would question allowing him -to have a voice at the meetings. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb will get in touch with Mr. Orlando to- see what his <br /> intentions are. <br /> The Board reviewed a revised- application form for the moving of structures <br /> submitted by Hayden Building Lovers, Inc. <br /> Mr-. Murphy stated the permit granting authority -should be retained by the <br /> Selectmen. <br /> Selectman .Gottlieb- moved to accept the new form and retain permitting <br /> authority with Selectmen. Selectman Lawrence seconded the motion. Selectmen <br /> Thomas and Hanson were in favor. -Selectman Canter stepped clown. <br /> 4 Selectman Lawrence moved to accept the bid of Great Spring Waters of America <br /> Inc. to supply bottled water to Summerwood Condominiums and the surrounding <br /> area at a price of $3,00 per case. Selectman Gottlieb seconded the motion. <br /> All were in favor. <br /> Mr. Murphy was asked for his recommendations relative to the request of <br /> Firefighter Chase for use of compensatory time. <br />
