Selectman Jacobson asks of the status of the School Committee' s request to the unions and it was reported by Mr. Harrington that there has been no response as of this date on the subject matter t The Selectmen feel they cannot support ar % increase. Selectman Lawrence has suggested to try to establish a level and work it out with the unions, Selectman Gottlieb has recommended to hold as close to level as possible and re-look at this in a fever weeks. The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to re-examine the increase in two weeks at the next schedule iomeeting. To have the Finance Committee and Personnel Board review this concern and remain with the objective to keep the cost of living increases as close to zero as possible. The motion was seconded by Selectman Lawrence. The vote is unanimous with the Board. Kevin Harrington will appeal to the unions, Article : This article coincides with Article 3. Article : Dealing with longevity, this proposes an increase of $50- 00 per catagory level. Selectman Lawrence is opposed to any increase at this time, he has suggested to do away with this. Selectman Jacobson agrees. The Finance Committee i s opposed to the increase. The motion was -made by Selectman Danson to delete Article 5 From the draft warrant. . Selectman Gottlieb seconded the motion. The vote is unanimous with the Board. Article 6: This involves the betterment cost involved in borrow- ing money, Kevin Harrington has recommended donations for the borrowing costs as dial for the repair, `own Counsel has carefully articulated with Joel Zeiger that the Town will not support this unless the resid-eats will come up with the seed money. A sufficient amount of money would have to be recieved so it would not cost the taxpayers the interest in bonding the first year. He has recommended I . Z eiger discuss this with Arne Shaw, Ir.
