Harrington <br /> informed them a building was 'built on 'down owned land without the <br /> knowledge of the Town. A well has also been dug. <br /> Mr. Harrington has no problem with the Little League, but feels <br /> the 'down is negligent in a number df areas. <br /> Peter Tri all on the Board of Directors of the Kittle League was <br /> present for discussion. He commented the concession stand and another <br /> are an ongoing process and not just built within two dad's. Although <br /> it is possible it may have been 'built within two days, <br /> Mr. Trimball asks if the concession stand on Town property could <br /> benefit the Little League? This will be discussed at the next scheduled <br /> meeting, <br /> 8:45 p.m. OLD BUSINESS <br /> Vote on Annual and S B ial Town Meetin& Warrant Articles: , <br /> Kevin Harrington has recieved the final rate of insurance with <br /> Blue Cross and Blue Shield. The projected numbers were an increase <br /> of 12-16% and are actually 6 and 9% rate increases. <br /> This is a potential savings of $40-45, 000. Mr. Harrington has <br /> discussed this with the Finance Committee and it is the consensus to <br /> inject theoo oney into some of the smaller departments, <br /> The recommendations are as follows; Council on Aging Director to <br /> be increased to 30 hrs. at approximately $8, 000. <br /> Police Department Secretarial to 32 hrs. to increase $7,800. <br /> Shellfish a $3100 increase for 6 weeks of additional hours. <br /> Harbormaster $2100 to increase 6 weeks of additional hours. <br /> Waterway Assistant $3500 - one full. time <br /> Library $5000 to reinstate custodian <br /> Accountant' s position has been rec inde d <br /> Conservation Commission $2700 to fund hours for two staff members <br /> Animal Control $2600 for additional. hours <br /> Leisure Services $11, 000 to reinstate the program director 20 hrs. <br /> The total is approximately $47, 500. <br /> Selectman Carter asks of the lifeguards on all thebeaches? The <br /> reply is no money available, Mr. Vaccaro reports this was a major prob- <br /> lem. It would cost approximately $30, 000 to fund the l feguards. <br /> Selectman Jacobson asks of South0ape and the lifeguards` dean <br /> Driscoll replied there is currently 5: 000 for the gate attendants.' <br /> Finance Committee Chairman Report of the School Committee. <br /> d� <br /> The Board was informed by the Chairman of the finance Committee <br /> that the Committee has decided to remain with the recommendation of <br /> $4, 950, 000 with concerns of the School Department' s budget. Based on <br /> the surplus identified by the School Department the Board has recommended <br /> $100, 000 reduction. <br />
