rt r BOARD OF SELECTMEN Wage MINUTES TUESDA r APRIL 309 1991 Ca e Cod Commission: Selectman Hanson supports the overall concept. of the Commission. On a county wide basis, the Board of Selectmen should have a selection of the course of action, Selectman Lawrence has suggested to meet at a different time with Mr. Halachis on this con.c-ern since there are time constraints. He feels the Board should hold a. special meeting. Selectman Gottlieb commented any extended role of the community towards the Commission i worthwhile. It is unfair to label the Commission that it is taking a life of its own. Most of us have not commented. In the long run, it will serve the interest of the Cape and be worth- while. orth- whil . Some of the recent actions of the Commission have deva.s ed our Town reports Mr. Fantasia. Alot of us Feel it is ar big mistake that was made, He mentions a project that would have provided alo{t of commerce to the Town. Selectman Gottlieb feels it is inappropriate to blame the develop- ment of McDonald' s on the Commission. That is a one sided issue. It was not ,-the intent of Mr. Fantasia to discuss a. specific project. This is a good reason to have a meeting with our representative states Selectman Lawrence. Selectman Jacobson would like it made clear that the Board is concerned with the actions of the Commission and not opposed. It was reported by Mr. Halachis the Commission has completed its first dear. It was noted by Selectman Carter M , h.pee will r cieve $46, 600 in Funds From the Commission. This is to be approved first by the county delegates* 'there is a guideline for use of the money. Patrick Coffey would like to know how Ma.shpee can be the model Town and recieve additional money? This will be discussed at the next meeting.
