BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 6 MINUTES MONDAY JUNE 249 1991 • FY 92 Reappointmentsi Council on Aging Directors Kevin Harrington has recommended the reappointment of Robert Connell, Thebmotion was made by Select- man Hanson to approve the above reappointment. The motion was seconded by Selectman Lawrence. The vote is unanimous. The vote is 5-0- Council on Agins It is the consensus of the Board to hold this until the Board has a chance to meet the applicants that have expressed an interest and then make the recommendation of appointment. Economic Development Committee: It was noted Christine Cahalane does not wish to be reappointed. It is the consensus of the Board to accept her resignation. Chairman of Board of Selectmen or designees The motion was made to app°int Carol Jacobson. The motion was seconded by Selectman Lawrence: The vote oftthe Board is unanimous. The vote is 5-0. Handicap Committees The applicants for reappointment have been approved by the Board along with the appointment of William Hansen who sent a letter of interest to serve on this committee. • The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the reappoint- ments and the addition of a new member. The motion was seconded by Selecman Caffyn. The vote is unanimous. The vote is 5-0. Harbormasters Kevin Harrington does not recommend a twelve month reappointment. He has recommended to appoint the Harbormaster for 120 days. The motion was made by Selectman Hanson to approve the request of the Executive Secretary. The motion was seconded by Selectman Gottlieb. Selectman Lawrence is favorable towards the motion. Select- man Jacobson and Selectman Caffyn are opposed. The vote is 3-2. Assistant Harbormasters Paul Somerville sent a letter of interest for this position. The motion was made bybSelectman Gottlieb to reappoint the applicants listed as well as Mr. Somerville. The motion was seconded by Selectman Lawrence. Mr. Harrington informed the Board that Mr. Somerville and Mr. Benway both expressed an interest to cross move on the waters. There was no written notification from Mr. Benway. Selectman Jacobson is also concerned with the appointment of Richard Halpern. He has served on the water in the past, but doesn' t live in the Town of Mashpee. • Selectman Gottlieb has withdrawn his motion. It is recommended to place this on the agenda for Monday. Selectman Lawrence has also withdrawn his motion. The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to appoint those recom- mended. The motion was seconded by Selectman Hanson. The vote is unanimous. The vote is 5-0.
