Selectman Lawrence is opposed <br /> to the appointment since he is opposed to him being the Shellfish <br /> Warden. lie chooses to remaxhin consistent. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Part-Time Administrative Clerk-Police Department <br /> The motion was rade by Selectman Gottlieb to appoint Mary Comet' <br /> as part-time administrative clerk for the Folios Deaprtment. The <br /> motion was seconded by Selectman Hanson. The vote is unanimous with <br /> the Board. The vote is 5-0. <br /> Notice of Retirement from Vincent - es <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to accept theretire- <br /> ment of Vincent Lppez effective July 31t 1991. He has recommended <br /> to prepare a, certificate of appreciation and for Mr. Harrington to <br /> Fill the position. <br /> The motion was seconded by Selectman Cafflyn, The vote is unanimous, <br /> The vote is 5-0,, <br /> Certification of Betterments for Bria.rwood <br /> As reported by Counsel, this is the last step in the process <br /> of the betterment. The roadwork has been done, this is the exact <br /> amount of the betterment and' the lot holders of record has been <br /> followed through* <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve and execute <br /> the Bria.rwoodetterents. The motion was seconded by Selectman <br /> Hanson. The vote is unanimous, The vote is 5-o• <br /> Letter of Concern res John' s Pond: <br /> recent letter of concern from Michelle Mckenzie addressed the <br /> water in John' s Pond, Selectman Jacobson noted the Board of Select- <br /> men have been addressing this concern and intend to continue to further <br /> persue the matter* <br /> The Selectmen have been in contact with the Environmental Affairs <br /> Tice and the Board of Health is testing the water in con j <br /> Ofection with <br /> the County Board of Health Depprtment. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb has also recieved letters of concern. He has <br /> recommended to send letters to the area residents* Selectman Hanson <br /> has also suggested to include addresses of agencies to write to to <br /> address further concerns. <br /> The latest testing of John' s Pond involves no volitule <br /> organic compounds have been detected& The Board of Health will <br /> continue to do monthly testing of the water. The testing was done <br /> from the bathing beaches themselves. Some trace compounds resulted <br /> from the outboard engine used to get to the testing site. <br />
