5 �^ <br /> .y <br /> F <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 6 <br /> MINUTES <br /> TES <br /> MONDAY,- SEPTEMBE 16 1991 <br /> Request to Include Warrant Article <br /> Cape Cod Commission Meeting on September 12, 1991 to see if the Town <br /> will. vote to advise and instruct the Selectmen to take all appropriate <br /> action to prevent the construction of an efflent outfall tunnel <br /> planned to empty into the Cape Cod Bay or take any action thereon. <br /> The motion was rade by Selectman Lawrence to include this article <br /> in the warrant'. The motion was seconded by Sole tr an Gaff n. The vote <br /> of the Board is unanimous, The vote i 4-0. <br /> This article will be l eluded as Article 2 in the Warrant* <br /> Article 2 will become Article 38 in the warrant. <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Lawrence to approve and execute <br /> the Warrant Articles approved for the October Town Meeting to be held <br /> on October 7, 1991 . The motion was seconded by ' Selectman Hanson, The <br /> vote of approval is unanimous. The vote is 4-0. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Vacancy on the Board=ofSe1e c toren <br /> The Board will hold this article until further information i <br /> obtained this evening. <br /> Appointment ent o- . Full-time member to the V nservathn Commission, <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Ca.ffyn to appoint Kathleen E. <br /> Terrio as full voting member to the Conservation Commission. The motion <br /> was seconded by Selectman Lawrence. The vote of the Board is unanimous. <br /> The vote is -o• <br /> A oant ent of a. Senior Clerk for the -Assessor' s Office <br /> Mr. David Bailey made le note he would like to withdraw the recommend- <br /> ation and reinterview the finalists. Selectman Caffyn noted she is in <br /> favor of the Board of Assessors designating the choice of senior clerk. <br /> Selectman Jacobson feels the appointment should be a joint decision. <br /> Selectman Lawrence concurs with Selectman Jacobson. They would like <br /> more information. It is recommended to discuss this on the 30th of <br /> September, <br /> Selectman Hanson has suggested for the Assessor' s to wait for the <br /> recommendation of the Board of Selectmen and move on it at that. time. <br /> If the sit ation is in an emergency, the Board will meet prior with the <br /> Assessor' s, <br /> The mo.tion was made by Selectman Hanson to appoint the senior <br /> clerk jointly with the Board of Assessors. The motion was seconded by <br /> Selectman Lawrence. The .vote is favorable 3-1. with Selectman Caffyn in <br /> opposition* <br /> School E re-l.lment and Davis,, School Well: j <br /> En llment has increased over 9.5% from last year reports Dre DeMoura, <br /> In grades pre-school through eight -there are 1132 students, Dr. DeMoura <br /> a!�Ks the Board to consider another elementary school at this time since <br /> it takes four to five years to build a school, <br /> The presentation is intended to make the Board aware as they relate <br /> to spaces Progression has continued in enrollment. The entire school <br /> system including children at the Cape Cod Technical Institute amount to <br /> 14y050 pupils of school age. <br />
