BOARD 07 SELECTMEN E1 age <br /> MINUTES <br /> KONDA , SEPTEMBER 30, x991 <br /> Constables: <br /> The Board has appointed -ten constables to date and it is the <br /> determination of the Board as to the required number of c nsta.bles <br /> the town chooses to have states Mr. Harrington. <br /> Mr. Tinkha ' s application has been reviewed by the Police <br /> Department which indicates he is qualified toy hold the office of <br /> constable states Mrs Harrington. He questions the determination of <br /> need is this particluar appointment 4b <br /> Selectman Caffyn asks why is he asking to serve as a constable <br /> in Mashpee when he resides inMiddleboro? It gives him ablilty to <br /> serve civil process states Counsel ., <br /> Although tern. constables is probably appropriate, Selectman Cafflyn <br /> suggests. for Mr. Tinkham to interview with the Board and determine <br /> his interest in the appointment in l ash ee. <br /> The Board appointed more than one constable to have one available <br /> to post Town .Meeting Warrant states Mr. Harrington, He also notes <br /> he has never had a problem locating a. constable representing Mash ee. <br /> The motion was rade by Selectman Caffyn to send a. letter to <br /> Ir~. Tinkham informing him that we have a. sufficient number of constables <br /> in I a.sh ee at this time. The motion was seconded by Selectman Hanson, <br /> The vote of the Board is unanimous. The vote is 3- , <br /> Appointment ent of Personnel Board Member: <br /> : <br /> Ther Personnel Board has recommended the appointment of Rita <br /> Sousa to serve on the Per-sonnet Board. She has a tremendous amount <br /> of experience and would be a valuable addition to thi board. <br /> The-,, motion was made by Selectman Ga.ffyn to appoint Rita. Sousa <br /> to the Personnel Board to replace Manuel Glickman' term.. The appoint <br /> rent is pending on the remainder of the term appointment date. The <br /> motion n a.s seconded by Selectman Hanson. The vote of the Board is <br /> unanimous. The vote is 3-0. <br /> i Council Members <br /> Appointment of ,�`� Iase Arts l�o` `ter~ '� <br /> Selectman Caffyn asks- of the ti e period of the tv o people who <br /> have resigned* Selectman Hanson suggests the time period to the <br /> appointments be included at the time the Board is to ak.e the appoint- <br /> ments. <br /> The motion was rade by Selectman Ca.ffrn to appoint -Amy FineWood- <br /> ruff and Sally Levine as I a.sh ee Arts Lottery Council Members for <br /> the remainder of the term appointment, The motion was seconded by <br /> Selectman Hanson. The vote of the Board is unanimous. The vote is 3-08 <br /> Letter of Resi a.tion from the South Cape Beach State Park <br /> Adylsoo Committee: <br /> Selectman Jacobson asks if Mr. John Lower is a Mashpee appoint- <br /> ment? Selectman Hanson recommends to accept his resignation, review <br /> his jurisdiction and- then advertise to fill the vacancy,, <br /> It is hopeful the South Cape Beach Advisory Committee will have <br /> -'recommendatiorD to appoint at the next scheduled meeting of <br /> the Board states Selectman Jacobson.
