This is a compliment to the Mashpee water <br /> Commission and subcontractor lir',, our for the quality of the road <br /> work, <br /> Rather than patching, the work was quality road work. Mr. Forde <br /> would like lir; Taylor as DPW Director to be aware of this. The <br /> Association does not want to run into a. situation of where the tar is <br /> not deep enough and then have it pulverized. We don' t want to waste <br /> roads that mi-ght be repvd states Mr. Forde, <br /> Mr. Forde also noted the original assessment before Town Meeting <br /> was $4800 per 'lot. with the derision it is now $5500 per lot. He <br /> feels it should maximize at $5000, but is hopeful for $3000. <br /> Selectman Jacobson al'so noted her concern with the storm drains <br /> into John' s pond. This is also a main concern of rine states Mr. <br /> Forde. <br /> Mr. Taylor was in Johne s Pond today to view the work that is being <br /> done inJohn, s Fond. He would like all the water work done with a <br /> many connections as possible before we start to pave. General.y the <br /> water work is done first and the storm drains follow. <br /> Mr. Forde again gave congratulations to the water District and <br /> subcontractors involved for the quality work that was done, <br /> Harbormasters Hours: <br /> Selectman Caffyn asked Mr. Harrington to review the hours o <br /> the Harbormaster with the Board for discussion. His schedule during <br /> the summer months through September 15th is a 40 hour week reports <br /> Mr. Harrington. Due to funding, his hours are reduced to 13 hours <br /> per week from the period of September 15 to. May 15th. <br /> The Harbormaster is .on call if there is an emergency situation <br /> states Mr. Harrington. He can be reached through the police Depart- <br /> ment if necessary, <br /> - Ir. Harrington suggests to use the best of his 13 hours per week <br /> is to have weekend hours mainly with additional hours for paperwork,, <br /> Ir. Halpern noted if a call comes in, we both have scanners, He <br /> answers if Mr. Benway coo e sn' t answer immediately. In regards to the <br /> emergency situation over the weekend, lir. Halpern found Mr. Benway <br /> and went to the boat as quickly as possible, He noted there were 5' <br /> seas and small craft warnings that day, <br /> Mr. Hanson noted when the Harbormaster took the position, he <br /> was informed that this is basically a. 24 hour per day job. Selectman <br /> a.ff n noted the response to the boat in distress took approximately <br /> one hour, <br /> Selectman Caffyn suggests the Har�borr a. ter be on the water especially <br /> during weekends. She suggests summertime e hours on the water to be <br /> Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday when most boaters are out on <br /> the water. The response would be quicker. <br /> Selectman Jacobson would also like t 'see the Harbormaster <br /> scheduled for weekend hours. Selectman Hanson doesnv t dispute althouth <br />
