s ti BOARD of SELECTMEN Page MINUTES TUE DAY, _ OCTOBER 15, 1991 Reconsideration of Recall Election* The motion was rade by Selectman Caffyn to set a date o special election recall for George Benway, Jr. on Thursday, Deo- ember 19, 1991 conditional on the written -decision of the Town Clerk, Mrs . Jane Labute, of Mashpee as to the validity of the election. The motion was seconded by Selectman Jacobson. The vote is 2l2 . Selectman Lawrence and Selectman Hanson are in opposition. There is no action on this vote informs Selectman Jacobson. The motion was rade by Selectman Lawrence requesting for Mrs . Labute to respond -to this with the appropriate information. The motion was seconded by Selectman Caffyn. The vote of the Board is unanimous . The vote is -o. Mashpe Area of Base Clean- Selectman Caffyn recommends for Mr. Taylor to be on the Base Clean-up Committee. He would be advantageous to the Committee being an engineer. I was noted that Mr. Harrington has family obligations when the Committee meets on Thursdays . ' He has no problem with the appoint- ment of Mr . Taylor . Selectman Lawrence suggests to follow the normal procedure and advertise . This is to have Town representation informs selectman Caffyn. There ,is no citizen participation. It may not require a vote . Mr. Taylor will review his- schedule before he consents to the representation to the Committee . Deferral of Teachers ' Summer �aY In communication .from Cape Cod Tech, legislation authorizes regional school districts to reject deferral of teachers , summer pay for FY 92 . The idea is for municipalities to free up 8-10 weeks of salaries informs Mr. Harrington. This appeared as Article #3 in the Town Meeting- Warrant . The revised language of the regional school districts were not included states Mr. Harrington. Dr. DeMoura anluerintendent Timothy Carrol ask for the Board ' s support in this request . The motion was made by Selectman Hanson that the Board of Select ren of the Town of Mashpee reject the provisions of section 231 of Chapter 138 of the Acts of 1991 , as amended by Section 4 of Chapter 223 of the Acts of 1991 , with respect to deferral of teachers ' summer pay in Fiscal ear ,19-92 by the Casae Cod Regional Technical High School District . The motion was seconded by selectman Caffyn. The vote of the Board is unanimous . The vote is 4-0 . Selectman Jacobson suggests Mr. Harrington notify Mr. Carroll immediately since the vote should be taken by October 15 , 1991 .
