The vote of ' the ,'Board is <br /> unanimous. The vote is 4-0 . <br /> Dispatch Discussion - 95% <br /> Selectman <br /> Selectman Vaccaro and Selectman Caffyn met with the two Chief ' s <br /> and dispatchers as related- day Selectman Vaccaro. The recommendation <br /> is to implement the additional dispatch coverage for the remainder of <br /> this fiscal year . The sum of $12 ,523 , 20 will be taken from the % cap. <br /> Five percent of the P l-�ice �Departr ent ' spending cap i appro -- <br /> imately $50 , 000 relates - Sel ctman Vaccaro. The Police Department is t <br /> return approximately -40, 000 . <br /> Another recommendation from the sub l committee is to investigate <br /> the proposal brought forth by Chief Ridgeway and Deputy Baer for use <br /> of the Sheriff ' s Office as a central dispatch the following year. It <br /> was noted that Deputy Baker will return with further information and the <br /> recommendation will he mace before Town Meet_ n . <br /> The two Chief ' s concur to investigate the proposal . Selectman <br /> Vaccaro would file a guarantee that the cost figures will not escalate <br /> and moving to a countywide system will not effect our ability to dis- <br /> patch. <br /> Mrs . MacDonald related if we are to monitor the calls, we should <br /> dispatch for both the Police and Fire Departments . <br /> Selectman Mills notes her concern for employee ' s to retain th it <br /> positions and indicates' the dispatchers have a local working knowledge <br /> of landmarks in Town that is desirable. <br /> The sub-committee is in agreement that there is no reason to de- <br /> crease the number of dispatchers.
