ISD BUSINESS : Authorization t6 sign Smith Lana Donation Form: *The notion was made by Selectman Lawrence to sign the document acknowledgi-Ag ,that we have received the donation of the Smith Land. The notion was seconded by Selectman Mills . The vote of ' the ,'Board is unanimous. The vote is 4-0 . Dispatch Discussion - 95% Selectman Selectman Vaccaro and Selectman Caffyn met with the two Chief ' s and dispatchers as related- day Selectman Vaccaro. The recommendation is to implement the additional dispatch coverage for the remainder of this fiscal year . The sum of $12 ,523 , 20 will be taken from the % cap. Five percent of the P l-�ice �Departr ent ' spending cap i appro -- imately $50 , 000 relates - Sel ctman Vaccaro. The Police Department is t return approximately -40, 000 . Another recommendation from the sub l committee is to investigate the proposal brought forth by Chief Ridgeway and Deputy Baer for use of the Sheriff ' s Office as a central dispatch the following year. It was noted that Deputy Baker will return with further information and the recommendation will he mace before Town Meet_ n . The two Chief ' s concur to investigate the proposal . Selectman Vaccaro would file a guarantee that the cost figures will not escalate and moving to a countywide system will not effect our ability to dis- patch. Mrs . MacDonald related if we are to monitor the calls, we should dispatch for both the Police and Fire Departments . Selectman Mills notes her concern for employee ' s to retain th it positions and indicates' the dispatchers have a local working knowledge of landmarks in Town that is desirable. The sub-committee is in agreement that there is no reason to de- crease the number of dispatchers. The request is to examine the other option. * I The notion was mace by Selectman.
