A recommend-
ation was made to do a reconnaissance study to determine what can or can-
not be done.
A funding source can be obtained from the Army Corp of Engineers
to complete the study. This should be of no cost to the town indicates
Selectman Vaccaro. A formal request is needed from the Board of Select-
men.
****The motion was made by Selectman Lawrence to discuss this issue
since it is not an agenda item. The motion was seconded by Selectman
Mills . VOTE: Unanimous . 5-0 .
****The motion was made by Selectman Vaccaro to request the Army Corp
of Engineers perform a reconnaissance study of the current state of Pop-
ponessett Bay and its adjunct properties under the condition it will be
of no cost to the Town of Mashpee . She will
inquire and update the Board.
Colonel Keating is scheduled to meet with the Board on Thursday,.;
March 12 to give an update to the Board of the clean-up process and test-
ing.
OLD BUSINESS:
The Board will review the request from the Zoning Board of Appeals
in regards to the appointment of an alternate member to full member status ,
NEW BUSINESS:
8 : 38 p.m. Field ' s Point Limited Partnership re: Donna ' s Lane :
A letter from Doug Storrs requests the Selectmen to grant an ease-
ment to Cornish Nominee Trust to the portion of the septic system that
falls within the new right of way. To grant the easement would allow
them to maintain the exising system.
Town Counsel advises the Selectmen cannot give the request of a
relief. Town Meeting approval is required to vote to resolve and approve.
Selectman Jacobson indicates her concern as to why the road layout
was done this way. There was no information to the Selectmen that we
were passing over a septic system. Town Counsel was also not aware that
this problem existed .
It may be easier to move the road and modify the taking suggests
• Town Counsel .
This will then impact Mr . Talanian ' s mini golf indicates Greg Taylor.
During this economic time , the Board should facilitate the change
of the exising situation recommends Selectman Lawrence . It would be a
shame if the area remained in its present state.
