BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 5 <br /> MINUTES <br /> . MONDAY, APRIL 27, 1992 <br /> Popponesset Corp. Entertainment License Hearing: <br /> An anti-noise law exists in Town the Police Department uses <br /> under Chapter 120-1 indicates Counsel . Establishments under <br /> Chapter 138 are excluded from this and not covered by the bylaw. <br /> It is not applicable. <br /> Selectman Caffyn suggests to contact Chief Frye as to how <br /> many complaints have been received . She notes that she has not <br /> seen all the letters of complaint . <br /> Selectman Mills relates that it is obvious the concern is <br /> noise . She recommends to give the operators a chance to control <br /> the noise . If complaints are received to the Selectmen, we will <br /> then hold a formal public hearing. <br /> Selectman Vaccaro agrees . We are all trying to be a good <br /> neighbor. We should give the operators an opportunity to <br /> schedule and work with the neighbors to bring the noise level <br /> down. <br /> Town Counsel suggests the Board request the Police Department <br /> to keep the Selectmen informed of the complaints received and to <br /> investigate all complaints received . This should be recorded in <br /> an incident report. If a problem develops with the license , the <br /> Bo'rd should then hold a formal public hearing. . The Board is in <br /> n <br /> agreement. <br /> The area is currently patrolled by New Seabury two evenings <br /> per week. Action will be taken to try to provide service seven <br /> evenings per week for the 10-12 weeks of summer . The Board will <br /> receive notification if this is to occur . <br /> 8 :40 p.m. ****The motion was made by Selectman Mills to close <br /> the Public Hearing. The motion was seconded by Selectman <br /> Caffyn. VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0 . <br /> Public Hearing: <br /> Selectman Jacobson indicates a Public Hearing is scheduled <br /> for Monday, May 18 , 1992 to discuss the expansion of hours to <br /> this type of establishment . <br /> Richard ' s Pub - Expanded Entertainment License Hearing: <br /> ****The motion was made by Selectman Vaccaro to continue the <br /> Public Hearing of Richard.' s Pub until Monday, May 11 , 1992 . The <br /> motion was seconded by Selectman Mills . VOTE : Unanimous . 3-0 . <br /> Selectman Mills abstained from voting. <br /> 8 :42 p.m. Meeting temporarily adjourned to return to Selectmen ' s <br /> Conference Room for remainder of scheduled meeting. <br /> • o <br />
