r � 1 F BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page MINUTES MONDAY, JUNE 15, 199 COMMUNICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE: The Board is awaiting information from Town counsel relative to the purchase of a backhoe for the DPW Department, Selectman Vaccaro indicates that it may -be more cost effective to own one rather that spend the money to rent this type of machine. Over the last two years the Town has spent $37 ,000 to rent a backhoe for the DPW, Selectman Mills indicated that she has received a call about the Old Indian cemartary and its lack of maintenance . Mr. Taylor indicates that the DPT was unable to mow the area last week and was not aware of a wedding in the area . OLD BUSINESS : Best Buy Beverage and Deer cross.in Market Liquor License Discussion: Selectman caffyn indicates that the Town has been petitioned y two establishments relative to receiving full liquor licenses . ABcc has been notified of this concern and is in review of the status . Selectman caffyn suggests to deny the request without prejudice. If an additional license is available, she would ask the applicants to re-apply for the license again . Selectman caffyn relates that a letter was received abated March 22 , 1991 relative to Liquor License Quota ' s from the ABcc. It indicates that the License quota of Mashpee has not changed because- .-' the increase or decrease in population was too little to cause any change in Mashpee ' quota . For the record , Selectman Mills indicates that the data used dated 3/21/91 is based on 1990 statistics . The current population at the time of the Federal census was 7884. It i indicated in this inquiry that the seasonal population is 999 . Mashpee is now over 10,000 in population. Selectman Jacobson is concerned that the Board did not receive the memo dated 3/21/91 . Selectman Vaccaro is concerned that all Board of Selectmen Members chid not know about this . Selectman costa recommends to deny the applications until the Board has reviewed the license situation. The Board can then advertise and the applicants may re-apply for the license .
