i <br /> i <br /> 4 <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page <br /> MINUTES <br /> NOONDAY • AU ST 101__1992 <br /> Harbormaster - Moorin Report : <br /> Dan Homeyer indicated that the Conservation Commission would <br /> like to give input with regards to mooring proposals. <br /> Mr. Whri tenour recommends for the Conservation Commission to <br /> review the rapping of the general location of all moorings. An <br /> additional column of Conservation Commission recommendations can <br /> be included in the breakdown of general information, This would <br /> relieve the burden of each individual mooring application and <br /> give the Harbormaster his opportunity- to manage the moorings. <br /> Ben Gordon has reoommende . for members of the Waterways <br /> Commission, Conservation Commission, Shellfish Commission and <br /> other interested parties review the master plan of where and how <br /> many moorings are to be placed over the next few months. He <br /> recommends to allow the Harbormaster discretion as to the amount <br /> of moorings. <br /> ***The motion was made by Selectman Vaccaro to eliminate the <br /> moratorium on moorings . The motion was seconded by Selectman <br /> affyn. VOTE: 2- . Motion did not carry* Selectman Dills , <br /> Selectman Jacobson and Selectman Costa are in opposition. <br /> Several Board Members feel a cap should be placed on the <br /> amount of moorings.. <br /> *The motion was made by Selectman Jacobson to remove the <br /> moratorium and suggest the Harbormaster place a cap on moorings <br /> to be limited to 600. • A committee shall be established <br /> consisting of members of the Conservation Commissionr Waterways , <br /> Shellfish Commission and other interested parties to review the <br /> area over the next few months to derive a mooring plan. The <br /> Board is to receive a weekly update of the moorings from the <br /> liarbormastear. The motion was se-conded by Selectman Mills. VOTE; <br /> Unanimous . 5-06 <br /> *Selectman Jacobson has requested Mr, Whritenour to write the <br /> state with regards to the- status of the draft of the Harbor <br /> Management Plan. <br /> Consolidation of Shellfish Harbormaster Departments <br /> Discussion: <br /> It was noted that Selectman Mills asked this to be placed on <br /> the agenda to hear the pro ' s and con ' s from different committee ' s <br /> relative to the proposed consolidation. <br /> Mr, Fadden. read his memo of August 10, 1992 indicating that <br /> a consolidation of the two departments would be a step <br /> backwards . This union would leave the Town without a Harbormaster. <br />
