F <br /> t- <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page <br /> MINUTES-SPECIAL MEETING <br /> THURSDAY, AUGUST 20t 1992 <br /> The Board of Selectmen ' s hands are hound by the court <br /> decisions rendered explains Attorney Randall . This is the way <br /> the system works rightfully or wrongfully. It is difficult or <br /> impossible for the Town or any other person to take formal <br /> action. <br /> Attorney Randall notes that the parties immediately <br /> concerned were satisfied and came to an agreement. Oreedanoe has <br /> to be given to the history of the case * <br /> Selectman Caffyn indicates that the Selectmen will take <br /> everything taken place at this meeting into consideration. This <br /> meeting was set up and requested, by the Hendricks family, she <br /> notes that a letter was received Attorney Avery a few days ago <br /> that has not been formally reviewed by the Board , <br /> Hazel Oakley related that the people will nearer rest until <br /> his man is taken from the Police Department, <br /> John Perry Ryan was present in representation of the Cape <br /> Cod Campaign for Civil Rights . Their primary Mission statement <br /> is to eradicate hate crimes on the Cape and the Islands. He <br /> indicates the most hatred crime is the taping of a human life, <br /> The Capp Cod Campaign for Civil Rights stands behind the <br /> apanoags, the Hendricks family and the Tribal Council informs <br /> Mr. Ryan . The dismissal of sergeant Mace is the absolute moral <br /> thing to do. This will dock this Town and dog you into eternity <br /> if something is not done now. Mr . Ryan indicates he does not <br /> want to dial M for Mashpee and get murder. <br /> Marie Scalley recommended to review the personnel record of <br /> Sergeant Dace . She made note of an incident when he disregarded <br /> a commanding -officers order and wrecked a police cruiser, He may <br /> not be the proper policeman for Mashpee4b <br /> Maureen Hendricks asked why Town Counsel can 't answer any <br /> -questions? <br /> Attorney Morse indicates that if a specific question is <br /> asked, she will answer it . she relates that Attorney Randall was <br /> involved in the' case and is available to answer questions . <br /> Ms. Hendricks indicates that this roan has no business to be <br /> on the police force. She is disappointed in the Hoard of <br /> Selectmen and responds that the judicial system has failed us <br /> miserably* <br />
