BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page <br />MINUTES <br />49 * . Hostetter re: Golf Course Pro osal continued <br />this site. Chairman Caffyn pointed out the proposal appears to <br />have many complications. <br />*The Board is in. agreement much more detail. -is needed <br />regarding the entire proposal. <br />Public discussion followed concerning road access to the <br />proposed project. Nor. Hostetter stated public access would he <br />through Barnstable. The land off of Newtown Road in Mashpee has <br />no frontage on Newtown Road. Mashpee's land is surrounded by <br />private roads,, and the -corporation controls private road access <br />from i t s pia shpee land. <br />Selectman bills introduced the issue of $123,000 in unpaid <br />taxes on the corporation's various properties. She strongly <br />stated she is against any discusion because of this large .amount <br />of unpaid taxes. A law in Mashpee exists which does not allow <br />permits to he issued if taxes have not -been paid. <br />Mr. Hostetter eXplained investors have expressed interest i <br />the project; if positive negotiations with the Town have been <br />initiated, they could probably come up with funds to pa.y the <br />taxes, <br />Selectman Costa expressed opinion the law does not forbid <br />The Board to allow Ir. Hostetter to put something together that <br />perhaps he could sell to take care of the unpaid taxes, Mr, <br />Hostetter stated his goal is to come up with a proposal so that <br />he can pay these outstanding taxes; a little guidance from The <br />Board would be helpful. <br />Chairman Caffn suggested a purchase rather than a land <br />swap could be considered. Selectmen Costa, Vaccaro, and Caff yn <br />agreed the concept of the proposal is Very interesting. <br />Selectman dills stated she would like the proposal reviewed by <br />Mr.' Thomas F'udala of - iashpee' s Planning Board. <br />***The motion was made by selectman Dills The Board forward the <br />Petition Article for the zoning change to the Planning Board so <br />It can conduct a public hearing The motion was made second by <br />Selectman Costa; motion passed, VOTE: Unanimous. -0 . <br />Chairman Caffyn initiated discussion concerning the ratter <br />of nonpayment of taxes, Mr, Whritenour gave an update of hoer the <br />matter is being handled in order to shorten the list of unpaid <br />taxes, which includes auto excise taxes and owners of boats and <br />moorings. one new rule prohibits issuance of permits until sign - <br />off with.Tax Collector takes place. <br />
