BOARD of SELECTMEN Page 2 <br />MINUTES <br />THUR DAB MA1 cH . 2 , 1993 <br />Personnel Board: <br />Selectman Mills recommended to address the evaluation <br />procedures for reviewing Department Heads and emplo eels. <br />The Personnel Board is in agreement. We need a uniform <br />system indicated Ms, Sousa, Manager's and employee ' s need to be <br />trained to know what is expected of each other. <br />Selectman Jacobson indicated that -the majority, if not the <br />entire Board understands the need for the Personnel Board -Is <br />assistance. She noted for the record, selectman costa supports <br />the actions of the Personnel Board. <br />***.The Board is in agreement to' direct the Executive Secretary <br />to work with the Personnel Board to complete a standard <br />evaluation process for all emplo ree' s. <br />*Material to be discussed by the Board of Selectmen should be <br />copied to pertaining Departments as per the agreement of the <br />Board. <br />Discussion of Town Meeting Articles related to the Personnel <br />Board: Draft; 9 <br />Article l: It was noted that this article has been <br />withdrawn by the Treasurer Tax cod. lector . <br />*Rita Sousa recommended to address the organizational need of <br />each department to obtain the best method to Meet their needs. <br />*Mr. Whritenour recommended to review the current part-time <br />staffing plan, With the assistance of the Personnel Board, each <br />department can be.reviewed for better organization. Ms. Sousa <br />recommended to complete an. organizational. chart of each employee <br />to include status. <br />Article 1 a: This article proposes to create a full-time <br />mechanic position in the Department of Public Works. The <br />position has been recommended to -establish and consolidate an all <br />Town vehicle maintenance program. (Fire trucks excluded) <br />Article lob: This article proposes to dire a full-time <br />Administrative Secretary for further clerical. support and to <br />increase the scope of the Leisure services Department. <br />Mrs. Farren recommended to include the language; a full-time <br />position with benefits, <br />
