5 <br />BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 2 <br />MINUTE <br />THURSDAYr DULY 81 lQq <br />JrZSr_High School Build,in Committee : 1 <br />We are currently seeking to hire two appraisal firms to work <br />in conjunction to review site factors informed Mr. Greelish. Two <br />appraisals are necessary to conduct the taking process. If <br />approved, the firm of Martin Coleman and Paul O'Leary will work <br />separately after Town Meeting to research the selected site. <br />Mr, Greelish noted that the above appraisal representatives <br />are highly qualified as expert witnesses if the court process i <br />necessary. <br />Harbormaster Interviews: <br />:0 p.m. Selectman vaccaro indicated that one of the four <br />finalists has withdrawn -at this time. Joseph Giarrusso will not <br />e present fr the interview process. <br />Hank Madden: <br />Mr. Madden, the present Harbormaster indicated that after <br />one year on the job, he has interacted with many members of the <br />community, Mr, Madden has attended all of the Waterways <br />Commission meetings and has worked closely with Robert Sherman on <br />many waterway issues.. <br />Mr. Madden indicated that during the peak season, he is on <br />the water approximately % of the time. Holidays and weekends <br />are a must to be on the water noted Mr. Madden. During the other <br />days, Mr.Madden- serves as a monitor and attends to <br />administrative matters. He noted that he has confidence in his <br />waterway atssi stants . <br />Mr. Madden indicated that during this past year he has <br />organized the mooring system which aids in the support of his <br />department. <br />As previous Harbormaster for the Town of Falmouth, <br />Mr. Madden indicated that he is a boat orientated person. H <br />understands the maritime laws and enforcement* <br />Other contributions made to the Town include, the <br />institution of a staff training program. Mr. Madden set up the <br />curriculum for CPI, First Aid, radio operation and <br />enforcement related issues. <br />` The most important aspect of the position is being present <br />on the waterways noted Mr. Madden. Managing the department and <br />scheduling personnel for most effective use and using the data <br />base are secondary. <br />
