Many warnings are <br />given noted Mr. Madden. Effort is made toward educating boaters <br />rather than issuing a ticket, unless it is a very serious <br />offense.. <br />Selectman Caffyn indicated that she is not aware of any. <br />written complaints against the Harbormaster. Mr. Madden has <br />collected many tax dollars for the Town by organizing the mooring <br />system. <br />Selectman Costa indicated that he has received concerns from <br />residents living on the waterways. The people want to see more <br />enforcement on the waterways informed Selectman Costa. In the <br />past, the Harbormaster has oven input to residents on a personal' <br />basis, 1t ,is important to have a Harbormaster who i "hands <br />on" type of person noted Selectman Costa. <br />Selectman Jacobson also related concerns to having a "hands <br />on" Harbormaster rather than an administrative Harbormaster. <br />Many navigational regulatory signs have not been placed in the <br />waters noted Selectman Jacobson. <br />y. <br />Mr. Madden indicated that he talks to people on a regular <br />basis, He was not aware of this concern. Mr. Madden indicated <br />that he is currently relocating navigational aids in Waquoit <br />Hay. Much of the problem stems from inadequate navigational <br />aids, He is currently seeking to correct this problem. <br />5 : 5 p , m . William Chapman: <br />Mr. Chapman.reviewed his past employment history with the <br />Hoard.. As commercial fisherman, he has enhanced interest in the <br />water with concerns towards environmental and navigational <br />issues. <br />Mr. Chapman resides in the Town of Chatham. He is a member <br />of the Waterways Commission in Chatham. If accepted for the <br />position, he would relocate his residence to Mashpee. <br />When asked as to what percentage he would be on the water <br />during peak season, Mr. Chapman noted that it is dependent upon <br />what is available. The Chatham Harbormaster does not patrol on a <br />daily basis noted Mr, Chapman. <br />CI <br />
