BOARD of SELECTMEN Page <br />MINUTES <br />TUESDAYe SEPTEMBER 71, 1993 <br />Public Hearing: <br />Small cities Grant: <br />Renovation of the Mashpee Wapanog Tribal council <br />Administrative and Social Service center building is comprised of <br />connecting and renovating the vacant donated building structure <br />to the existing building indicated Mr. Whritenour. <br />Improvements to the Tribal council service center include <br />roof and interior repairs, heating and electrical improvements <br />and handicapped accessibility improvements noted-Mr.-Whritenour. <br />The Auaculture Training Program will provide for <br />work/study program geared towards shellfish farming indicated <br />Mr. Whritenour. This will have a direct impact on economic <br />development, create new jobs and become an investment in <br />renewable resource for the community related Mr. Whritenour. <br />The Affordable Housing Study will aid the Local <br />Comprehensive Plan to meet housing needs for the community <br />indicated Mr. Whritenour. <br />The Affordable Housing Study will allow for a consultant <br />study to analyze needs for current and future affordable housing <br />facilities noted Mr. Whritenour, <br />The Economic Development Feasibility study will focus on <br />Mashpeers unemployment rate, the characteristics of the To n's <br />unemployed population, the types of employers who could utilize <br />current or potential skills of unemployed residents and the <br />feasibility of attracting such employers to Town indicated <br />Mr. Whritenour. <br />The Economic Development Study will focus on developing a <br />municipal industrial park on Town owned property related <br />r. Whritenour. A heritage/cultural center to be located near <br />the Town Museum will also be proposed for development. <br />Proposals were received in response to Public/Social <br />Services informed Mr. Whritenour. specific proposals were <br />received from the Thorne clinic with reference to a Support <br />Program for Mashpee children of Domestic Violence. <br />The visiting Nurses Association has submitted a proposal for <br />a Pilot Parenting Program for at -risk Mashpee families indicated <br />Mr. Whritenour. <br />r 1 <br />u <br />
