0
The Chairman
Board of Selectmen
Town of Mashpee
Town Hall
Mashpee, MA 02649
Dear Mister Chairman,
30 September 1993
Last Wednesday, an - inflatable boat and motor was stolen from
our property on Monomoscoy Island, an incident which was reported
at about 7:00 AM. Within an hour, Corporal Douglas Flynn of the
Mashpee Police Department, and Harbormaster Perry Ellis were at my
residence, conducting an onsite investigation. Several hours
later, Corporal Flynn and Harbormaster Ellis had successfully
located the boat and motor in Falmouth, along with some other
marine equipment that had been taken, and had apprehended
suspect, By the time I returned from work, the boat was back where
it belonged, safe and undamaged.
People who have heard of this i nc id nt gay that we are lucky to
get the boat back. True enough. I think, however, that we are
a.so . very , lucky to have people like Flynn and Ellis working for the
Town. Both of these gentlemen exhibited the effort, dedication and
professionalism that many who work in the public sector strive for
and achieve daily. All too often, public service workers do. not
receive the recognition they rightfully deserve.
I wish to thank Harbormaster Ellis and Corporal Flynn
personally for their e f forts on our behalf, They should • both be
commended as outstanding representatives of two excellent Town
Departments for which Mashpee can be justifiably proud.
Monomocoy Island
Mashpee
Post Office Box 3105
wauoit, MA 053
0
Since ly,
go
Kerr Prlski
lug
-.•--'„----- • , . wit
ti:.rLi ZP
