Departmental Budgets <br /> Each Department Head shall include in the a nu:al <br /> budget a section to provide funds for anticipated pay adjust- <br /> merits during the ensuing year; expenditures within the <br /> budget ean be made only in accordance with The Plan. <br /> 11. Basic working Hours per week and Basic Rate of Pay <br /> The basic work week for all Town employees shall be <br /> . forty 40) hours. The minimum salary or wage shall be, for <br /> all Town personnel in grade 2 or higher Table II)., shall <br /> be figured at the rate of two $ .00: dollars per hour. <br /> 12. Overtime <br /> An employee shall be compensated at straight time for <br /> hours worked in excess of his established work week, with <br /> the following exceptions:- <br /> (a) An employee in the supervisory group is not entitled <br /> to overtime compensation, unless this is specific-ally provided <br /> for by Section 57E, Chapter 799 of the General Laws which <br /> requires cities, towns and fire districts to grant Fire Chiefs <br /> an additional day's pay for duty on a legal holiday) and by <br /> Section 1'7F, hapter 435 {which provides that the Chief of <br /> Police shall be granted an additional day's pay for duty on <br /> certain holidays). <br /> {b) Section . , Chapter 62 of the General Lavas, ap- <br /> proved March 6, 1969, provides that, "if -an officer or member <br /> f the fire fighting force of the Fire. Department of -a city or <br /> town shall be required to be on duty for any period in excess <br /> of-his regular hours of duty as from time to time established, <br /> he may be given time off equal to such period of overtime <br /> duty or,, if time off cannot be given by reason of a, personnel <br /> shortage or other cause, he may be. paid for such period of <br /> overtime duty at such an Dourly rate as may be determined <br /> by the authority in charge of a. Fire Department, which rate <br /> shall in no event be less than one and one-half hour of the <br /> basic hourly rate of his regular compensation for his weekly <br /> hours of regular duty." <br /> c) For work in snow and ice removal, overtime compen- <br /> sation shall be -one and one-half I ) times the employee's <br /> basic rate for time over eight ) hours daily. <br /> (d) If an off-duty police officer is required to be pnent <br /> in court, he shall receive one half r ) day's pay if required <br /> to be in court for four ) hours orless and one 1 day's <br /> pad if required to be in court for more than four ), hours. <br /> In addition, such officer shall receive mileage allowance if <br /> using his own car to go to court, whether on duty or off duty. <br /> 1f on duty, no overtime will be paid. <br />
