During this probationary per- <br /> iod, the Board may review the employee's record from times to <br /> time, but, in no case, sha11 the employment be mde permanent <br /> i without at least one such review and approval by the Board. <br /> Ihirfng the probationary period, an employee will not be en- <br /> titled to air Fringe benefits, but after becoming a permanent <br /> employee, sick leave, vacation leave and seniority shall be <br /> retroactive to date of employment. The Board may, at its <br /> d3.aaretion, waive the requirement for a probationary period. <br /> (e) Part-temployees e=ept SpecPolice Officers who <br /> regularly work twenty (2Q) hours or more, average, per week, shall <br /> partieipats in all fringe benefits on an appropriate basis as <br /> decided by the Board. Such employees may be made "permanent employees" <br /> at the discretion of the Board in conjunction with the appropriate <br /> Department Head, subject to the same }probationary period as <br /> required for Hill, time personnel under section (d) soave. <br /> 6,. Medical Ezaminations of Etapl.oyees <br /> (a) Every permanent Tom E:nploy+ee under the Plan steal}. be <br /> certified by a practicing physician designated by the Board. <br /> The Certification M'st Dover physical fitness to perform the <br /> duties of the position, and amr ioal condition which <br /> might adversly -affect the insurance coverage of the Town un- <br /> der Chapter 152 of the General Laws or the group insurance <br /> coverage of other Town Employees. No assigrnt shall be <br /> approved before the Board is asauured of the individual's � <br /> fitness ed on the medical certificate. At its discretion, <br /> the Board may require periodic re-examination of employees. i <br /> Copies of all pertinent medical e=minetiars shall be in <br /> hand before an employee is aatua73y hired. Arq employees <br /> requiring medication which might conceivably impair his per- <br /> formance shall report this information promptly to the Board <br /> through his Departmnt Head, <br /> (b) Persons workingpaxrt time for the Police and Fire Depart- <br /> ments shall be asked, 'prior to starting work 3.n eaph ease <br /> whether they have arm iaal condition or other reason which <br /> might result in disability due to the proposed work. Such <br /> statement will be made pari of the employees record <br /> (a) Minors must have written permission from a -parent or <br /> guardian and, if at in school, by their school before being <br /> accepted for part-tip employment. <br /> -11- <br />
