Any claim for payment under said policy shall not be subject <br /> o the Grievance and Arbitration Procedures of this Flan,; but <br /> shall only be subeot to those procedures set forth in the policy <br /> of insurance. <br /> X111* EVES OF ABSENCES <br /> le Sick Leave <br /> a. A full-tom employee, after probation, shall be allowed one <br /> and one--quarter (1140 dans sick leave for each month pro- <br /> vided such leave is caused by sickness, injurer, or exposure <br /> o contagious disease and provided the employee notifies his <br /> department within an hour of his starting time when he is <br /> out sick. Any portion of such leave not used in any year <br /> by the employee may accumulate to a maximum of sixty <br /> dans. <br /> b. Regular part-time employees shall beentitled to sick leave <br /> benefits pronated n the average daily rate of pay for the <br /> prior six ninths. <br /> C, If the amount of sick leave credit orovided has been or i <br /> about to be exhausted, an employee may rake an application <br /> to the Poard for additional sick leave allowance, The <br /> Board is authorized to grant such allowances as a charge <br /> against vacation leave or otherwise, as it may determine to <br /> be equitable after reviewing all circumstances including the <br /> eMDloyee's attendance and performance record,- <br /> d. A doctor's certificate at the expense of the employee may b <br /> required by the Department Head if an enployee is absent "rom <br /> work for three consecutive days or more, or for ten (10) <br /> r more days in a twelve 12 month period , or if the Depart. <br /> rent Head has warned the emDlo ee about abuse of his sick <br />
