Such leave <br /> shall not be changed to the employee' s vacation time . <br /> Maternity Leave <br /> ae Whenever a. regular full-time or regular part-time employee <br /> becomes pregnant , she shall furnish a. certificate from her <br /> physician stating the expected cute of her delivery. chile <br /> an employee may take maternity leave without pay at any <br /> time after a diagnosis of her pregnancy is confirmed by her <br /> physician in writing , the Town may require written <br /> certification from her physician in writing , the Town may <br /> require written certification from her physician ' a.s to how <br /> long the employee should continue her regular work. All <br /> requests for maternity leaves of absence shall be made in <br /> writing by the employee to her Department Head , at least <br /> two 2 weeks prion to the desired date of leave. For <br /> maternity leave which does not exceed twelve 12 weeks, <br /> the Town shall reinstate the employee to her previous <br /> position with the same status, pay and length of service <br /> credit as of the date of her leave, and cover the Town' s <br /> part of the employee' s health insurance premium for the <br /> eight-week period . For longer periods of leave, the Town <br /> shall reinstate the employee in the first available opening <br /> for which she is qualified . Accumulated sick leave may be <br /> used during maternity leave if the employee is disabled <br /> from working as certified by her physician. <br />
