Personal Leave <br /> All regular full-time employees., after completion of their <br /> probation , shall be allowed two 2 personal days per year <br /> for the purpose of transacting important personal business <br /> which could not otherwise be performed during an employee' <br /> regular off-duty hours. Request for, personal leave rust be <br /> rade to the Department Head at least two days in advance, <br /> except in the case of emergencies. Personal leave may be taken <br /> in half day segments. <br /> Lege of Absence <br /> Unpaid leaves of absence may be granted at the discretion <br /> of the Department Head and the Personnel Board . such leave is <br /> not to exceed three months duration. All requests for such <br /> leave shall be made in writing at least one l month prior to <br /> the desired commencement of the -leave, if possible, and shall <br /> indicate the approximate date of return . An employee on unpaid <br /> M <br /> leave of absence shall not be entitled to holiday pay, nor, for <br /> leaves over one 1 month to accrue vacation time or sick leave <br /> time, or to be covered by health insurance unless mutual <br /> arrangements are made for the employee to continue premium <br /> payments during such leave, <br /> XV, GRIEVANCE PROC URE <br /> The Board recognizes that it is the hest interest of <br /> effective and harmonious performance of the duties and <br /> responsibilities for prompt and equitable disposition of any <br /> grievance at the lowest organizational level possible under <br /> procedures of maximum informality and flexibility.
