.. �'1 <br /> shall be processed in accordance with the following procedure <br /> 1 , Grievance Defined . A grievance is a dispute or controversy <br /> between an employee, other than a. probationary employee, and <br /> the Town over a, specific provision of this Plan, <br /> , <br /> 2 . Grievance Steps. <br /> Step- I - An employee rust submit a. grievance in writing to <br /> his Department Head within five (5) calendar days of the <br /> occurrence of the event giving rise to the grievance. <br /> The grievance shall contain : <br /> (a) lane <br /> (b) Nature of the grievance <br /> (c) Requested remedy <br /> (d) Signature of the Employee <br /> The Department Head shall respond in writing to the grievance <br /> within five (5) working days with a copy sent to the Personnel <br /> Board and the Board of Selectmen. If a response is not issued <br /> within five (5) working days, the grievance will he deemed to <br /> be denied . <br /> Step 2 - If the employee is not satisfied with the answer <br /> given in step I or if no answer is given., the grievance must <br /> be submitted to the Personnel Board within five (5)- working <br /> days from the date the answer is received or the date it is <br /> due, whichever first occurs. The Board - or a. designee of the <br /> Board shall consider it as soon as possible but not later than <br /> ten ( 10) working days after receipt of the grievance. The <br /> Board shall issue its reply in writing within five (5) working <br /> days. if a reply is not issued within five (5) working days, <br />
